"Flattened to plates of misery' is perhaps the singular best line here. This reminds us all that the tumult of nature is always simply over the horizon and cannot be ignored.

This entire poem is a testament of resilience to the people of that country, and also to all the people in those many other countries who choose to take the risk to help and aid those in need.

The rest of us merely sit back, admiring their courage as we relax in front of the television, not really being able to mourn for those who died, simply because we weren't given their names.

Blessings,
Shane

This event has made me cry, those poor people,
no food, no shelter, it's so sad, specially for the
old people and children. I know this country has
send food and medicine, but they much more.

Have a nice day my friend.

The world is full of tragedy and you have described and faithfully regurgitated the news here in this free verse formatted poem. I see one spelling error in the piece.

G'day Ine. You are my personal news channel. The only time I hear anything that happens in the world is from your beautiful work. This is so sad, those poor harmless people. Thanks mate, cheers Fez

I admired another of your timely news releases in free style. I heard that 4,000 have been estimated killed, and that does not include inaccessible villages. I did not know about the major quake in 1934. I can only hope that Nepal does not suffer a severe aftershock and that aid efforts are successful. Sadly- Joan

Ine;
+ An excellent free verse poem about the tragedy that befell Nepal As they were struck by an intense earthquake that demolished the towns and have killed many people.
+ You did an excellent tribute and laudation involving this tragedy to the people of that land.
+ Good use of enjambment which is the running on of a thought and concepts in one stanza and line to the next without a syntactical break.
+ Thank you for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always my friend.
Alex

Excellent work with this one. Actually, the after shocks have been major ones, some as high as 6.7. The death toll is rising and I fear that many more will die before help arrives. It is so heartbreaking and leaves me feeling so helpless.
