I love the picture. Animals love their little human house mates. The little ones can be annoying and sometimes they hurt the animals. But the animals know they will grow up and be fun to play with.. Great work.

I enjoyed this poem and the delightful picture. You maintain the rhyme scheme beautifully and employ engaging personification of the cat's perceptions of the situation. I was one of these babies who grew up with a huge German Shorthaired Pointer by my side, protecting my every move. I don't think I have ever quite discerned the difference between people and dogs, and perhaps that is not a bad thing. I gave my own children the same gift. It is so amazing how the animals instinctively know that need to care for the baby.

When a new baby comes into the house, all pets scramble to keep their serenity and their place. Sooner or later everything works out okay if the parents watch both. I enjoyed your cute poem of the animals fears and hopes. Marilyn

This is excellent, I like the idea of a "meeting" where all have their say. The variety of animals is well done and the rhymes are smooth and even. Good job!

Story of little one getting better. Happens all the time. Poem well written. Verses flowed well into each other. Descriptive language used well. Nice puppy dog too. Write on.

I have often wondered how animals relate to new humans that clutch and grab how they welcome them into the pack thank you for the animal perspective. Well penned with just a touch of humour and loads of love

Hi mystery author, what a wonderfully penned poem and an excellent entry for this particular competition, great rhyming and proximate rhyming, good rhythm and a brilliantly smooth flow help this poem stand out my friend.
Good luck in the contest.
