G'day Alexis, thanks for the recap in this uplifting chapter. I loved it but I'm concerned about Karen taking Mark back, I wouldn't. LOL. I'm so happy this didn't finish with the last chapter of the last series, I was going to take up drinking to drown my sorrows, but now I'll have a beer and celebrate. Cheers and bring it on, Fez

I will, although a lot slower this time. I just didn't want to lose the momentum (in other words, I couldn't let go when I finished the last one!) Jury duty tomorrow, so hopefully I won't be holed up for weeks! Alexis xxx

What a great idea, to hear from each owner on their ideas and plans. The girls sure have come a long way. Normally, it is said not to do business with friends or family; but something tells me, these three friends will do just fine. They seem to have their roles and functions easily mapped out and they all bring a different expertise to the table. Look forward to reading more!

These three certainly do watch each others back, that's for sure! Jenny and Karen have had bad relationships in the past, although Jenny has found a good man. I just have to sort out Karen and Laura now! It's lovely to have you have you aboard. Alexis x

One of the reasons I left Karen's love life up in the air at the end of the last book is because I think there's a lot of mileage left in the possibilities open to her. I think I'll let her have a bit of fun for a while! Alexis x

I agree - I had a lot of fun when free to please myself, in spite of having three little lads to bring up - didn't seem to put men off at all.
Great idea. hugs, Margaret

Now, as you say, the fun begins. I can detect a lot of the essential ingredients in this establishing chapter which cleverly combines back-story with current thoughts and feelings. I suspect that you may receive a review or two suggesting you should have done it with dialogue. It is true that, in general, dialogue is more attention-grabbing and interesting than narrative, but I think you made the right choice; it enabled you to combine information and interior thoughts in a way that would be difficult and, perhaps, clumsy with dialogue.
But now that the 'establishment' is firmly in place, your readers will be looking for lots of dialogue.

I'm glad to say there haven't been any complaints--yet! It's a hard job starting a sequel without boring previous reviewers to death, so I thought I'd try it this way for now. Thank you so much for following, I really appreciate it. Alexis x

Excellent job Alexis! This is such a great idea. This really explains everything that has been going on in each of the character's life. You did a great job describing each character on what they have been going through and the new changes in their life. As I read each paragraph on each character, I could actually almost hear them saying all this. Sounds like things are starting to look up for each of them.
Hhmm... I'm really anxious to find out what happens on Karen's dinner with her ex, Mark. Maybe they can put their past behind them & fall in love all over again?
I'm ready to find out what happens with all of them! Keep it coming!

Bless you, Shana. If you reckon it's okay, then I'm happy. It's a hard job starting a sequel without boring previous reviewers to death, so I thought I'd try it this way for now! I've just posted The Date, part two. Can't wait to hear what you think! Alexis xxx

Karen should give Mark another chance, since he had GOOD REASONS for leaving her. He waited a while before having an affair, too. As for what she should tell Mark about her "affair" the answer is simple: say let's not talk about any of that and just see if we have enough left to try again. Old affairs are not relevant now, so she's off the hook.
Can't wait to hear the dinner conversation. :)
Oh, and under the title of your book when you design it, you should put: A Sequel to Talking Dirty.

The three women have their confidence restored. It shows what success and having money does. It brings back dignity. Each have a definite character which adds variety, and shows how depending on each other has made them stronger in facing life's challenges. Their personalities are clear, and makes for an interesting story. Well penned. Les

Ah, thanks for providing the necessary background for those of us that didn't read the first story. Sounds like a good story in the making.
Curious about one thing. What is a "friendship site"? I'm not familiar with that term. I have my guesses, but just thought I'd ask.

I friendship site is an alternative to a dating site, in as much that women can get in touch with women, and men can get in touch with men for friendship (not a relationship!) I have about 20 sites around the world that are currently dating sites, but I hope to relaunch them as friendship sites in the future for people who have lost their partners due to bereavement or divorce, especially in places like Spain, France and Italy where couples retire from the UK. Fingers crossed! Alexis x

Excellent work of summarizing each woman's personality, skills, past problems and hopes for the future. Each gal has an obstacle to overcome. Prime meat for a novel. You go, girl. (I hated that Jack turned out to be such a snake)

Me too! Never mind, I'm on a mission to find Laura a perfect mate. At least she's more likely to meet people at the hotel. Alexis x
