a few things you might care to look at:
I am born back
I WAS born back
spend [my] (THE) first couple of years of my life. - change to "the"
To this day I got those small boots
To this day I STILL HAVE those small boots
Not only are they cute but one of my dearest memoirs
HERE - The boots themselves are not really memoirs - but possessions - perhaps my most treasure possessions

What was it that suddenly make me think of it - needs question mark
I enjoyed this piece but it was a little unstructured and at times slipped in tenses I am rather than I was for example.

But as I said it was a good memory and you need these to keep you grounded and to a part of of a family,
