A great crowd pleaser for the fruit bowl.
The deep, bright red fruit has very good nutrient value in them.

Beautiful 5/7/5 poem. I fully understand - I have been known to eat my first and even my second basket of cherries before I get home. I used to have a cherry tree of my own and that was pure delight.

Janet, thanks for your review and contest well wishes. Fortunate for me, by the time I arrived home I not only had my cherries, but I also had my poem I wrote about them.

What a great comparison, cherries and gemstones. An amazing photo - looks good enough to eat. They aren't in season here just yet, but I will be buying them as soon as they are.

This poem and image are esthetically pleasing, in fact, they have made me want to run to the store and buy some cherries. What a great topic to have chosen and what a great way to immortalize the first cherries of the season.

Yes, Rhonda, many reviewers told me they wanted to run to the farmer's market or the store for cherries--the gem of fruits. I did not choose this topic. It chose me when I stepped into the farmer's market yesterday and saw the first cherries of the season. I composed this poem in my head before I ate the first one. Thanks for your review.

That's when you know its good! That and the fact that you are a true poet. My father used to write poetry on scraps of paper as things came to him.
