Nice metaphor and a fine 5-7-5 format. I like the satori-esque closing line. Good word economy. Also, a nice presentation. Good consonance of R and S.

I believe you really penned this 5-7-5 poem. All the syllables are right on point, the words of thoughts clearly are in line and comes together making me really wanting to go out and buy me some cherries. Excellent job, artwork picture perfect. Thanks for sharing and best wishes in the contest.

Thank you for your fine review and contest well wishes. I am still taken aback by how the sight of the first cherries of the season at the farmer's market inspired me to compose this poem in my head before I even ate one. Alas, I am almost out of the cherries I bought but I look forward to Saturday's market.

Gems they are, small treasures to be prized for their beauty as well as their wonderful taste. This is so descriptive and the syllable count is perfect, of course.
