I identified with so much of this. I could feel your sense of being trapped in an obsession, and at the same time doing something worth doing. Maybe I have misinterpreted. Apologies if so. I thought this was a courageously honest piece.

Very interesting. I think many of us here ask the very same question from time to time. But you are right, in the end you have to get off you butt and make a life for yourself. Life is for the living, just writing about it isn't enough. Well done.

Very interesting. I think many of us here ask the very same question from time to time. But you are right, in the end you have to get off you butt and make a life for yourself. Life is for the living, just writing about it isn't enough. Well done.

I can see why you win, are published, have stacks of writing around that you produced. All the effort has been worth it, as this essay is excellent.
It points out the positive and negative aspect of your life choice. I love the ending, the fact that while writing is wonderful, gaining an outside perspective, living a life outside of the pages, will give you more to write about when you return.
