Hi, Shari.
I've run out of six stars, but your writing deserves that and more. Wow, that must have been such a shock to learn how Jeff had sponged the money while Nichole was working hard. Guys like that are "deadbeats."
Your descriptions of Alaska are great a place I'd like to visit one day.

Bye
Rosalyne :)

I would have liked to be a fly on the wall when Nichole got back to the apartment and looked at her bank account. :-(
Alaska is a place to see, but once is enough for me.

oooh, smart move, calling Jeff... you mean he hasn't been working this entire time? Stand up guy, isn't he? lol

I loved Alaska... lived there a long time. Never saw Regis though... damn.
lol
I'm back at it, though I've got a million messages in my inbox... I can't be bothered. LOL
I've got to get something done instead of just looking at them, so I decided i'd actually review something where I knew what was happening, so I came here. ;)
Glad to be back. I"ll do a few chapters...

Yes, we did! Lots of eagles. I forgot about that. Nichole sent four hundred home every week to their joint savings account. Big mistake in my book since they weren't married.

"Guess I'd better get a job" ???? What a deadbeat! I hope at some point in this story she wises up and dumps the jerk. Well, at least she got a chance to sing for an audience and that cruise ship is great experience to put on a resume.

Yes, she thought it would help her too. Hope you're still feeling better about things.

Thanks for caring. Actually, I still have times when I cry and feel hurt and abandoned. I miss Amanda a lot. She used to cook wonderful lunches for us. Now she's cooking for Matt, and he had the nerve to tell me how much he loves her cooking! That was supposed to be to help ME, you jerk. Oh, well. At least two people are happy and only one is sad (me), and two out of three isn't bad.

We're going there for Sunday dinner. Going to try to make this better somehow, but it's going to take a while. I forgave them, because of who they are and how well I understand them and what they need/want so much, but I'm finding it's way too soon to forget.

It does take time just like any deep wound.
Be patient with yourself and kill Amanda with kindness. :-)

As a mum to a daughter who works for a church, as does her husband, I can sympathise with the 'wanting more' for your child aspect, although I've consoled myself with the fact that her lost, brilliant singing career, although ended, has resulted in something she derives so much pleasure from. I can't wait to find out how the 'jobless' Jeff finds a job now his benefactress is giving up a lucrative job.

Benefactress-- that's the exact work. I hear you about the lost career, but what's important is that you love your work.
    Hugs,
    Shari

Still here. I decided to get a top-up for my internet dongle after all. Back to the 'real' world on Wednesday!

This doesn't sound good. What has Jeff been doing while Nichole was busy working. Why does someone stay with someone that has such odd traits? If we could answer that one we could make a million dollars writing a self-help book. Nice work with this one.

For sure. Guess she had more confidence in him to succeed than she did in herself. Or maybe it's as simple as unconditional love.

I am like you, Shari, when I see someone "famous" ,even the local weatherman, I want to run up and start a conversation like we've been pals for years. Luckily, my friends usually grab me by the collar and yank me back into reality.

Oh no, Jeff doesn't have a job? That will be interesting. 8-)

Hi-five, girl. Cher, the hoochy-goochy singer and guitarist performed at our community. Since I first saw her 48 years ago on our honeymoon, I escaped hubby's clutches and darted upstairs to the dressing room after the show. She actually hugged me and thanked me for the memory. What fun is life if you miss chances like that?

This is well written, my friend. I enjoyed the comments about your trip to Alaska. I lived in Juneau for a while and my brother has lived there for many years.

I can imagine how living and working for a cruise line could get to anyone. Especially when you are expected to eat left-overs. I've heard that they're pretty unfair with their employees. This was a good chapter, covering the good and bad of your trip. I'm looking forward to hearing why Ole Jeff figures he has to find a job now. Perhaps now that she has the money, she can get rid of him. Best wishes.

Always with respect,

Glad you enjoyed the side trip about Alaska. Interesting that you've heard about bad treatment. Guess you'd have to try it to find out.

Hi Shari,

What a marvelous adventure you had in Alaska, and you describe the land so well.

You never heard of Regis. I used to watch him in his early television years.

Oh, dear, I wish you hadn't called Jeff - you interfering mother, you, LOL.

Hugs,
Lou

Well, I never expected to hear he had quit his job! Alaska was amazing but once is enough. Cold even in summer.
