I find this kind of attitude at the grocery store when they say "thank you for shopping at Walmart"... or drive throughs as well.. I like the way you have described this character and then of course your last line of sarcasm "fly the friendly skies".

Your words certainly paint the picture here! I, too, have come across this type of air hostess now and again. It is a great sadness when people are reduced to going through the motions of their workday without their heart in it, be it on land or in the sky.

Perhaps if you described more of the look behind her eyes that gave you that feeling. Her facial expression or her body language as she spoke.

Is this poem about a real person or something you made up? Either way it's really good and an enjoyable read. Some people, who are supposed to show politeness to others as part of their job, can sure act awful. It's funny they don't fire her.
