You ARE writing good poetry. No picture is necessary.
The right words will always convey what we want, as long as they have heart. These do.

Well written piece.

The visuals of your poem were so strong that I did not notice the absence of a picture. Your poem spoke for itself. I was relieved that you were not writing a poem about the co-pilot who crashed a plane into the Alps. I only had to worry about the unfriendly attitude of a flight attendant, "acting like she didn't sign up for this part of the job." I also enjoy your keen observation of a moment you captured in poetry as a series of snapshots. Thank you for sharing.

MSN list, 25 things you will never do again, had this: Fly Comfortably. I have heard
nothing good about flying by airline in so long...your description of a bored and
self-centered worker is excellent.

Your poem describes the person well, and no picture was necessary. Your title also established the mood well. I certainly did not expect the turn in your account as her "attitude" portrayed the opposite of the slogan! LOL -Joan

That was back in the time of the controversial, "We moves our tails for you." Different air lines. The stewardess obviously did not have enough training.

You carefully chosen words very adequately describes this stewardess, Teresa. I could easily picture her, along with the whole scenario, playing out in my imagination. You know, having a vivid imagination is the whole key to good writing, whether it be prose or poetry.

Fly the friendly skies of United. I used to hear that advertisement growing up so much when I was a young lad.

I liked the irony in this too, as well as the scathing sarcasm.

Good stuff! ~Dean :)

You are very welcome, Teresa. I hadn't thought of that old advertisement in a long time. :)

Teresa; an impressive and well descriptive poem
+ imagery is very demonstratively expressive and vividly descriptive throughout the writing defining what type of person this airline stewardess was that was a very unkind of a person indeed. And it seemed like she just went through the motions.
+ Enjambment used which is the running on of late thought and concepts for one line and stanza to the next without a syntactical break.
+ Poetic assessment and summary: you really did's plane what type of person she was in her mannerisms like for just pushing a cart and sneeringly reacting to your pleasantries. I have met people like that and it's really difficult to deal with. Sometimes I feel like you just get up take the collar by my hand with the other hand slap her silly.
+ Thanks for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always.
Alex

Sadly,
this is a stewardess
I've meet many a time -
and yet
I remember when flying
was serious pleasure -
both crew and passengers understood
the value of leisure.

Clothes and manners
mattered.

Now we get
snarky attitude

sardine seating
tacos wafting
and smart phone yacking

sometimes
the good old days
really were good.

You don't even get free peanuts or pretzels anymore. Their new slogan should be "pay more, get less" - lol. Thanks so much:)

I am not so eloquent. Friday last, I flew 6 hours non stop on United from New Jersey to Seattle. I fly a lot. Most miserable flight because of the arrogant attitude of the flight attendants. Once the best, United has fallen from grace. They must teach rudeness and indifference...you can not act that badly on your own.

Good description of this unhappy lady. Oh, I remember being that person, Teresa. I was not happy with the job I was doing, but much deeper than that, I was not happy with me. We never know what others are going through in their lives. I used to get mad at people like that. Now, I try to offer a smile, have a nice day with a smile, something to try to brighten their day. You want to really mess with 'em, give a gift. Many people don't know what to do with that one:).

I know what you mean. Sometimes working with the public is hard and we all have good days/bad days and we don't know what someone else is going through. I just try to be friendly. Thanks so much:)
