very nicely done. They came together really well as well as stand alone. You didn't have to separate your poems with the .... just use them as one line each.

A poet writing a Supertanka is comparable to an alchemist and you have successfully merged two tankas to make this strong entry for the contest. Best of luck.

If i had to take a wild guess, I would say that a supertanka is a series of tankas with a single theme. You're on the correct pathway. Good luck in your contest.

Thank you, Charlie, for giving this a look. The tankas should read as both separate poems and as one 10-14-10-14-14.

You're welcome.

Interesting style. I've never seen it before but it seems to have a lot of potential. I truly appreciate the 'cause and effect' of each line. They all ring true.

I had never seen this form before either, but I liked your side-by-side presentation in the 5-7-5-7-7 format, which allows for the work to be read continuously or as two separate, but connected tanka. The artwork you selected is striking too. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

-Wonderful artwork that coordinates with your poem.
-Format is good.
-Very cleverly written.
-I like reading it as two separate poems, but either way is good.
-Some good imagery.
-The last line is an effective conclusion.
-Overall, a very good poem.

I read this first as two separate poems and then read it as a continuous poem and it made a lot of sense all three ways. But to read as a continuous poem makes the most sense to me. Patricia

I think the supertanka is such a cool poem especially when done right and you have done a great job here. I really like the formatting of the poem as well, great job and good luck in the contest.
