I like this poem, Walt, though I don't know precisely why.
It makes me think that drinking poets don't make good husbands. But failing in that the poet's scrawling a "broken rhyme".
Like I say, I don't know why, but I like this poem.

I found this captivating. That a "poet and his broken rhyme" is a "corner" we "find in trouble" is so beautifully said. I believe the intention here is the statement that poetry is borne of love that breaks our hearts, or of pain, and that even nursery rhymes possess hidden tragedy. That's what I took from this, at any rate. And I happen to agree. Very powerful.
