Good job with the child's point of view and dialogue in this nonfiction piece about the birth of your little sister. I was almost seven when my brother was born, and the only thing I had noticed different about my mom was that she had to wear her shoes with the buckles open because her feet had swollen. Certainly, it was a more innocent time in which to grow up.

Thank you so much, Debbie. We were so innocent in those days. My grandchildren think my story was, 'cool'?? LOL. They know everything these days. Such a shame. Our mothers covered they bumps, as my generation did. You didn't advertise the fact you were pregnant to the degree they do today. I'm so pleased you enjoyed my story. :) Sandra.

A very good rendition of how children act and think, especially back in that day and age. At least you didn't get the stork story. Well written. Flows well and realistically. I don't see any errors. Good story. Good luck in the contest.

I am going to print them and give a copy to all my grandchildren, so they can see what I was like, and later what their dad's were like! LOL. Another fun story. Children do seem to overlook the obvious changes--they are so busy in their own lives. Funny to think you didn't notice your mom's
body changes, but then again, maternity styles have changed drastically!

Thank you, Helena, for another great review. When I was a child, and this story was 60 years ago, (that gave my age away!) pregnant mums wore very loose baggy clothes, there was no showing off bumps back in those days, even when I was carrying my sons, 44 and 41 years ago, the fashion was to hide the bump and not show it, heaven forbid! If we did, it was considered quite unseemly! LOL, What my grandmother would think of today's young pregnant ladies, I dread to think! Thank you again, my friend. :) sandra
