Roy Acuff

You've written a very good and informative article on the great Roy Acuff. Interesting biographical facts add to the interest of the story. I think of Roy as one of the great fiddlers as well as singers in early country music. My one suggestion would be to mention a little more prominently in the beginning his fiddling style and ability. (the only spot I saw it was the line, "he was the fiddler and singer of the Smokey Mountain Boys").
Great article for those who know his music and those who don't; but hopefully, after reading your article will give him a listen. The Wabash Cannonball is one of the greats.
Well done

This was an interesting summary regarding the life of Roy Acuff. To die at 89 of CCF was not bad!
You wrote:
Suffering a sunstroke, and a nervous breakdown from over exposure to the sun,
* I don't think one can get a nervous breakdown from sun exposure. Sunstroke, yes; not the other.

Can not argue with the medical facts of his life, however, thanks for your comments.

Hi, Brett
I enjoyed reading your essay on Roy Acuff. I admit to being a jazz fan myself, and not really knowing much about Roy's history. But even I know that he's a very famous guy. Sounds like he had quite a varied career.
Well done!

Is not Blue Grass country music a half buried treasure down under. And with the music sprouted the legends. I was half hoping for some good music revealing the spirit of the South but your piece reads like a documentary and left me disappointed. Let the notes sing for themselves Mate! -Ekim777

No, Bluegrass is not the same as Country music.
