This is the most interesting read I have had for a long time and I did not know that he was only twenty nine when he died. Excellent writing with great facts about the man.

this is an excellent write, brett, I love reading the biographies of different people. I'm a country girl at heart and would love to hear reba McIntyre sing one of my songs one day.

I never realised Hank Williams was only 29 when he died, I thought he lived beyond that. Was I a result of drink, drugs or a little bit of both! He appeared to be incredibly popular, some of the hits he had seemed to be released by other artists much later, and they in turn them into hits! Well done this was a most informative and well compiled biography of the famous Hank Williams, well done, Brett, blessings, Roy.

This is very well-written and has a strong ring of authenticity to it.

I am curious about the statement about Hank Williams being fired from the Grand Ole Opry shortly before he died. What was the reason for that?

I was astounded (though on further reflection, not surprised that he was given the posthumous Pulitzer prize for his role in helping transform Country Music.

I have an album I work out to by David Allen Cole and there is a particular song on it I like called "The Ride". It's a song about a hitchhiking singer being given a ride by a mystery driver in a Cadillac. You're not told until the end who it was (though most can figure it out), but when the driver lets him out, the hitchhiker says "thanks, Mister". And the Driver says, "You don't have to call me Mister, mister, the whole world calls me Hank."

I sure didn't know he was only 29 when he died. Just a kid.

I took a moment to go to your website and am now following it.

Mostly no shows and his alcohol problem got him fired from the Grand Ole Opry. Thanks for following my website as well. I am very familiar with David Allen Coe's incredible song about Hank Williams as well.

It's 9 AM here and I'm off right now to exercise to DAC's CD, including the Hank Williams song.

From my classiccountrymusicgoldnashville.com website "The One And Only Hank Williams" For a man to have done such a lot of living, he sure died very early in life. This is a wonderful story of a great musician you have compiled here. Well done.

Brett, this is fascinating. I had no idea he died so young or that Cheatin Heart was released after his death. I always loved his music, and I'm a fan of country music in general. I'll have to check out your site. :)

This is a very informative piece and I certainly learned much about the man. I did not see any SPAG to speak of and it progresses in a logical and easy to follow manner. Nicely done and I thank you for sharing it.

My father loves Hank Williams' music and thinks he is one the greatest country music stars of all time. I remember my father singing "Your Cheatin' Heart" lyrics when I was a child, and the one about the wooden Indian. I don't think he is aware of the Pulizer Prize though, or I'm sure I would have heard about it. I'll be sure to pass the news along to him.

Thank you so much for a bit of history on the great music legend in a well written article.

Hi, Brett...

Nice tribute to Hank Williams.

I always enjoyed watching the video they did with him and Hank Williams Jr. Super, the way they can do that now. Father and son singing together.

Enjoyed the read.

Cheers & Blessings

Wonderful information about Hank Williams, Brett. I've been familiar with his music most of my life as my aunt was a huge fan of him and many country musicians.

I also caught, Sneezy Water's stage show, Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave.

Hank was one the greats and really hasn't been topped since.
