Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Karen still baulked (balked) a bit at the state of some of the toilets

As Karen heated the pan of soup up in the kitchen (heated up the pan of soup in the kitchen)

I very much liked seeing Mr Patel in this chapter. It's nice to see characters other than the 3 women and their families. I might suggest adding a bit more description of him in his scenes, to give the reader a visual image.

Loved this chapter. :-)

Yes, Mr Patel's a nice guy. It's a shame the same can't be said about his wife! I knew someone like her once - not a nice experience! Alexis xxx

Hey there Lady L
Karen has the makings of a chef unless Mrs Patel stirs the pot so to speak. Good dialog and a better insight on Mr Patel as well. Things seem to be looking up for Karen

Mr Patel is a decent guy, it's his wife that's going to screw everything up for everyone! Alexis Louise + big hugs. XXX

G'day Alexis. Have I mentioned that I always get hungry after I read one of your chapters mate. Karen is a star, she seems to be a very versatile person. I loved this chapter of my favorite chick flick. Cheers Fez

You're going to love the Valentines dinner chapter then. Karen pulls all the stops out! Thank you for catching that, Fez. Your eagle eyes are working well. Alexis x

Very interesting. Karen is going to be running the restaurant, and then the girls will all get together and buy the hotel so they can open the bar. And they might event add a place for hookers to service male guests, hidden in the basement, of course. LOL!

Oh, if it were only that easy. A hotel in the city centre of Glasgow costs between $750,000 to over a million, which is something they couldn't even manage collectively with a mortgage. As for hookers in the basement? Tut, tut, Phyllis. I'm trying to make these women respectable again!

This was another enjoyable chapter to read, Alexis. It is true, perhaps a mother does make a better cook than a single male. Mothers do hate waste, myself included. I feed all waste to the dog or the chickens. At worst: compost.

I'm the same. I absolutely hate waste, especially when so many people are struggling to feed their families. I'm like you, the only thing that goes in the bin or recycle are things that can't be eaten or burnt! Alexis x

Seems as if these gals might end up getting a socially acceptable job after all. That sort of thing happens in real life. Take a part-time weird job and the next thing you know, good things begin to happen.

Here's hoping, but it won't be for a few months if they do because of all the problems they face. I might change my mind and have them all drive over a cliff instead. (Oh, the power of being in charge of three people's destiny!) Alexis

It looks like Karen is going to get her 'real' job after all. She just might have trouble getting days off! Mr. Patel probably won't change, but at least cooking is what Karen was meant to be doing.

Mr Patel lets her have a chance, but his wife's return messes everything up. Alexis x

Fun chapter. I really enjoyed this read so much.

the others just needing the beds made,- 'needed' the beds made.

Other than that, I didn't see anything to work on. Great job. Looking forward to Karen running a kitchen and maybe a bar, LOL :-)

I am thinking that all of these ladies are going to end up doing other things, rather than the chat line. Can't wait to see if my hunch is correct! It seems like the day went very smooth for Karen and Mr. Patel.

Maybe, maybe not. Although it all seems to be coming together, there's a rocky road ahead!

Feel-good factor in this chapter, Alexis! Karen certainly worked hard as a mother/wife and in her jobs as well. It's nice to see the females helping each other out and the praise of the boss. The promise of a job offer is intriguing - can she manage everything going on?! Best wishes for the weekend, Pete :)

Yes, it's all looking good, but don't forget Mrs. Patel is on holiday for a few weeks, so it might be short lived! You have a great weekend too, Pete.
