Theo is so sweet and thoughtful. He would be just what this little demon needs to turn her around.
A very tender scene with beautiful dialogue. Nancy

Thanks so much, Nancy. Yes, Theo is a real catch. He deserves more than a demon, no matter how pretty she is. BUt she'll change. :)

Bringing in this pregnancy plot opens up softer him aside to Blaze that probably has her bewildered. In this chapter, she a tennis ball going back and forth attitude regarding the vast and Theo. the emotions ring high with each chapter and it keeps the reader on edge.

Well this chapter does hit up some big moral issues. Theo seems like a tremendous guy to like Blaze and even hint at taking on some of her obligation by supporting her choices.

Thanks again, Maria. He is a nice guy, and Blaze knows it. She doesn't want to hurt him if the truth about her nature comes out. She has a decency about her. She just needs to learn (remember) to love again, and then she can move ahead. Right now she has one foot on Earth and one in Hell. Nowhere near Heaven, sadly.

A very lively chapter. Lots going on. Theo is behaving like a true gentleman. Wonder if he is going to offer to marry her
We'll see what happens next

Interesting developments as the story moves along. Lots of ways this can go. Nicely worded dialog.

Blaze's reaction to his knowing she was pregnant seemed less of a shock to her than I would have thought.

Thank you for a good posting that was fun to read!

I really do not think that there is as much of a stigma against single mothers as there was in years past. a good chapter, but I feel as if the characters are at least in part becoming mouthpieces for the issue of abortion.

Thanks, Ed. I do put philosophical and social issues into all my books, not to preach, but more like an after-book mint to chew on. I don't take sides, just bring the issues up for consideration. With the school choice issue earlier, it was a political controversy. In Island, it was metaphysical, along with the fallibility of humans trying to control nature, and so on.

In this book, like the other demon books, the Catholic Church plays the role of "good"... not that it's the "right" church or anything, just bec I need someone like a Father Murphy and a Franny representing Heaven to balance Lucifer, his demons and the evil of Hell.

Now, she could have chosen abortion, but there'd be less of a story. Actually, it's the baby that will protect both Blaze and Theo from harm. No matter how Blaze ended up pregnant (when demons never do), even if some angel messed up the paperwork and sent the soul to the wrong woman, God will protect His children, and their Earthly guardians. This baby actually will be her key to redemption in two ways--one I just mentioned, and secondly, it's the baby that will allow her to feel love. And once a demon can love, Luke has lost another servant. If not redeemed, she can easily disappear, as Frank and others have. THat's why Luke only sends demons to Earth whom he can trust, but he's an idiot and does nothing but make bad decisions.

That's what is going on in my head, for what it's worth. :)

I could't sleep so though I might as well be doing something productive. Pool Blaze is bouncing around like an out of control ball of silly putty. I know she wants to do the right thing but she needs some time alone to work this all out. I think she should keep the baby and hope that is the decision she comes up with.

Thanks for reading. As long as you're resting... there's a limit to how much you can sleep, even when sick. :)

Hi Phyllis - well, that was unexpected. Theo knows and is willing to support her and the baby. Does Theo know her ex? - Luke might try to take the baby when its born.

Thanks so much, Annette. She won't tell Theo who got her pregnant and he agreed not to ask. You guessed right about Luke, but shhhh.... don't tell anyone, okay? :)

Theo again proves he's a very good man. Guess it's not possible to point the camera at her belly and will it to be Theo's?

Thank you, Carolyn. The camera doesn't work on a body controlled by a demon, but that was a great idea! LOL! TUrns out that Blaze's type is tall, dark, and handsome, so even if the baby looks a lot like Sebastian, it could pass for Theo's. They have the same coloring and I guess the story should describe them more... both rather similar noses, etc. I'll make a note of that for editing. :)

Great ears on that guy. Not sure I would have said anything so soon or at all. Good chapter and excellent writing.

note

He doesn't deserve to be the child's father.
It's a life sent by God, no matter what the circumstances. Doesn't your child deserve to be born?"

- Are you sure a man would say these parts. A man who would happily have unprotected, unmarried sex with Blaze if she blinked her eye.

Depends on the man, I guess. We don't know if he has a pocketful of condoms or not, and we also don't know that he would toss her in bed the first chance he got. He's what they used to call a gentleman in my youth, and he's obviously quite religious. :)

Thanks for reading all those chapters. :)
