Yeah, you've got yourself a pretty good Momma there. And it does sound like you've managed to train her pretty good too. You are lucky to have each other.

I love the story. Even the spelling errors makes it sound like Bo talking. She gave the dog a life and she was happy about it. Dogs can feel like part of the family. They give us much more than we give them. Great work.

I just loved the tone of this and the voice of Bo. What really won me over and just melted my man heart was the rescue scenes at the beginning. How beautifully touching. Any animal lover had to get goose bumps reading that. Great fun all the way through. Sounds like you fit into Bo's life pretty well. Great job. I think you may have the winner. mikey

A fun essay about Bo's mamma. I like the dialect. Mamma's boy has had a good life and they both have benefitted from the arrangement. :) Nancy

Hi there,
This was a good read and fun.
I really liked the tone of the piece and the spelling / grammar affected was very fitting and added to the piece.
Good luck in the competition.

A couple things stand out for me in this imaginative and very well-written piece. One, of course, is the dialect/dialogue used to reveal Bo's character in his first-person viewpoint. The other is the cataloging of those little rituals that make up a day--and on a larger scale, the overall nature--in the life that Bo and Mamma share.

I just love this story, bad grammar and all :) Bo is a very good story teller, and you can just picture everything that he relates.
At first, I didn't realize the story was about dogs, it was so touching, I thought it was small children, until I continued reading. Either way, it started out evoking emotions of sympathy. Then the love affair started between Bo and Mamma, and it just took off from there.
Well done, as the reader can certainly envision the relationship between these two unlikely friends.

I wish I had a six left. I completely understand. My dog and cats are the say way and we rescued all of them. I sure hope Bo's brothers and sisters found good homes. Good luck with the contest.

I seriously enjoy animal stories, especially dogs. My portfolio is chock full of them.
This was perfectly written. Should do well in the voting. Hope I'm not to late... John

Wow! This is the best I've read. You made me believe you were a cute but sneaky (aren't they all) doggie, with a mamma you loved, who loved you back. Can't ask for a better story. :)
