You must have had a great relationship with your daughter if that was the first time she treated you like that. What a caring and generous mother you are. I think my mother would have told me to rent a car before lending me one of hers. Your daughter had no idea how good she had it with loving parents and extended family to assist her.

.....Laughing....
Wow!
Quite a narration!
Is this biographical? Or is it something you just made up?
It's so funny how you described him as ugly. And worse was the loud and cant fit into the family.
If this be biographical. Try not to loose your daughter nor let her loose sight of the love she has or had(I don't know how long ago)

.....Smiling...
Thanks for your review of my work.
And also for the kind compliment.
You're not in short of qualities; beauty for instance, talent and many more.

Ah, Mag. Sad to say this really happened. Sage advice on losing my daughter. I almost did after another incident with Jeff. Thank YOU for the compliments too. One can never get enough.
I really appreciate the sixer, hard to get on a Saturday.
    Hugs,
    Shari

Very well written once again, but must have been a very difficult time for you and your husband. The dialogue in particular was very gripping and we were right there with you.

Thanks, fimarie. Actually, this was mild compared to what happened pre-wedding.

Sorry girl, your daughter sounds just like my sister. I could hear my mom telling me stories like the one you lived. She only wanted the car because she knew you wouldn't give her the new car. Most of us would be grateful that mom and dad let us borrow any car. I don't believe the boyfriend is such a great influence.

Hugs, Julie

Not a good influence in my opinion either. Believe it or, my daughter was like my sister in many ways. The irony is that she didn't like my sister.

G'day Shari. Great write mate. That guy sounds like a childish jerk to e. He got physically sick because the car broke down. He ought have been with me in the bush when ours broke down, no room for weakness, but you'll read about that in later chapters. I hope Nicole snapps to reality about who in life is important and who is a jerk. I love this story and am looking forward to the next episode. Cheers Fez

Thanks, Fez. You'll hear more about both as I move forward with the story about Mom.

Though I haven't read the previous chapters I wasn't lost. Found this to be honest and quite entertaining. The dialogue was real as the situations that occurred unexpectedly is what made this so interesting. The hidden feelings and the interactions kept me wondering as to what's next? Unfortunately I'm out of sixes. Awesome writing! Les

LOL Everyone is out of sixes by Wednesday. Tom ought to ration them out. Anyway, I always appreciated the thought. Appreciate your detailed remarks as to what kept your attention.

Are they still together? Well written as always, but I fear that you wouldn't want him or her to read this if they are still together...I have been there with one of my daughters who couldn't say a civil word to me for many years...we are all good now. I now get what you said in my last review...that you probably wouldn't put this chapter in your book...it is healing to write the truth, but it is wise to let it sit somewhere in a a dark closet. Love your book and honesty.

Still together which is why the chapters will be deleted. Enough damage was done at the wedding. :-(

This is another good chapter my friend. I enjoyed reading this, but thought the daughter rude. I think girls get worse as they get older and I speak from experience here lol. Thank you for sharing.

She was so rude, I couldn't believe she was my blood! I wanted to disown-- at least for a day. :-) We love our children, but we don't always like them.

Jeff is a big influence on your daughter. She's stressed out about the relationship and throws that negative energy at you. Frank killed me when he said,"He's ugly. "Why would she want to date him?" And your description,"Jeff's eyebrows looked like the crooked legs of a hairy spider. A large nose and heavy chin dominated his face. On the other hand, he had lovely, thick, curly dark hair set far back on his broad forehead," confirms what your husband said.

Maybe Jeff isn't the guy for her or the one she really wants. Her outburst and ungrateful way off seeing things is clouded by those thoughts.

Thanks so much, Muffins, for your insight into the situation. I forgot to add that Jeff's big role in high school was the Elephant Man!

Hi, Shari.
Your descriptions of Jeff gave a great visual picture. "Jeff's eyebrows looked like the crooked legs of a hairy spider." It can be so difficult when our kids bring home somebody we don't like. You showed well that he was wrong for Nichole, and not an influence that reflected well. Her behaviour changes and strikes toward you was a reflection of his control over her. Jeff's values are clearly so different to yours and your family.
Bye, my friend!
Rosalyne :)
