Dear Phyllis, this is really well penned. Your dialogue and interaction between your characters are wonderful. I must say I am really warming to Blaze...and felt her pain in your closing. Loved this post.
Thanks for sharing sis.

Thanks a million for the sixer, Maureen. Blaze is different from Ginger, in that she likes being an Earth agent for the freedom it gives her from Luke, whom she doesn't like or respect at all. He's tried to seduce her many times, and she'll have nothing to do with him. Just ONCE did she succumb to his passion, and that was when he came down to Hell wearing the body of Senator Sebastian Blake. She was so attracted to the man, she was willing to forget it was really Luke, and she let him have his way. When back up on Earth, she helped Lorna free Sebastian from a mental hospital (where Luke's crazy actions masquerading as Sebastian had landed the senator). She then had an affair with the real/whole/human Sebastian. When he dumped her to go back to Lorna, she was furious and used her magic camera to turn him into a short, fat, balding, clownish man. He ended up back in that same mental hospital. She started the rumor that the senator had confessed to crimes against his opponent and run away forever. Anyway, when she and Sebastian were in her apartment one day, he didn't have condoms with him, and that's when she got pregnant. She is not about to tell anyone, not even Tara, that the missing senator is the father.

That's how this part of the story started.

Funny that Tara should mention non-alchoholic drinks. I have a feeling that Tara knows that Blaze is pregnant. And the pregnancy will deliver Blaze to Franny.

Thanks, Ed. I think that's a coincidence, altho she may suspect, since eight readers thought she must be pregnant as soon as she threw up in the wastebasket. She doesn't act surprised in the next chapter, so yes, she could suspect. The non-alcoholic drinks serve two purposes then, the obvious plus keeping her sober and behaving herself with Theo. :)

Poor Blaze. I'm beginning to like her and cheer for her. I hope Franny can find some way to help her. Maybe give her an assignment or some sort of test to prove she's not who she used to be.

Thanks so much, Cindy. Franny has no power, but she does have God's ear and can surely help. But I think Blaze will have problems from below to match any help from above. :)

Poor Blaze, perhaps she'd better welcome Franny if and when she come back. Any life is better than being sentenced to eternity in hell. Blaze is a great kind of jealous of her dear friend Fantastic chapter.

I really like this conversation and the relationship between these old friends. You depict the emotions they are feeling well while navigating their new roles and the complexities of their relationship and their lives. I think you've grown to like Blaze more and more and that this is taking you in directions where you once said she was barred from going, which is A-OK with me :-) Brooke

Thank you so very much for the sixer, Brooke. COming from you it's a trophy in itself. And you are correct. I couldn't stick with my original plan, but had to find a way to satisfy readers who hoped Blaze could be saved. And I wanted that for her too, I guess. :)

A great transitional chapter. Blaze is actively thinking about redemption and there are signs that it might be possible in some way. At least it doesn't seem impossible like it once did. I like your notes. That beats three chapters of my convoluted nonsense trying to make something in error work. :)) mikey

LOL! Often it's best just to admit a mistake, fix it, and go on. After all, these are first drafts! :)

Hi Phyllis - I'm a bit behind in my reviewing at the moment but catching up. Well, Blaze sounds like she has a soft spot underneath her tough façade. She's scared of getting too involved with Theo, but is curious about love. Maybe she will be forgiven one day? Interesting chapter.

You make these characters so real, Phyllis. That takes great writing. Another fine chapter. I'm sorry I missed the previous one.

"I remember. Murphy's the priest who exorcised you. That had to hurt." LOL really like this line]

Thanks, amahra. The previous chapter is still paying. It's where Franny appears to Blaze and she feels sick.

I finally got BLAZE edited and on Amazon. It's the last book with Lucifer as the Devil, the one where Blaze became an Earth Agent to take the place of Ginger. She turned the senator into a short clown, remember? Anyway, if you do and would like to leave a review, Comment from Sasha

I am so sorry I took so long to get to this. I have been preoccupied with life's ups and downs and only today finally found time to get back to my reviewing. I feel so sorry for poor Blaze. She is is a terrible position and I understand her frustration and envy of Tara. Being a demon is serious work and not something I would ever want to experience.

Thanks, Sasha. YOu are not at all late. But I'm sorry to hear your life is having even MORE ups and downs, esp. downs. You've had your share, but always bounce back. :)

Blaze feels sorry for herself, too. She WISHES she could recall what love felt like, but thousands of years in Hell have buried her feelings from Heavenly days.

Tara gives Blaze a realistic plan to help convince Theo that they have a friendly businesslike relationship. Blaze longs for and questions why she can't have what Tara has. I bet God is listening.

Thank you so much, and you are right. God is always listening. Maybe in this case Franny is, since God has stopped listening to demons in Hell, who, if sorry at all, are only regretting the punishment, not the offense. But Franny has His ear, and she's investigating... and watching. Normal demons are not troubled by unfairness and injustice, nor are they friends with saved humans. Blaze is clearly a different sort of demon, and she's determined to figure it out. :)
