What a little matchmaker Karen is! She was quite creative with that story, so we'll see if the vet takes the bait with Jenny.
Jenny and Laura have men in their picture. We have to get Karen hooked with someone. :-)

What a good friend. Good cover-up for Jennie, but I suspect the doctor may get interested in Karen now that she's taking care of herself. Love how she covers it up with bulky clothes to surprise everyone.

This was another enjoyable chapter to read. It looks like romance might be coming along.
You mentioned that the vet injected something to numb the area before he removed the stitches--this is not normal practice. Usually, stitches are simply removed without numbing, because it is not painful. Injecting local anaesthetic is painful and causes swelling. Do they do this in Scotland? I am curious.

I really enjoyed this chapter so much! Lighthearted and fun to read. I especially got a kick out of Laura wearing baggy clothes so the kids wouldn't know she's trying to lose weight. Can relate to that one. LOL
