Another fine devotional write Roy. Well written smooth and easy read. The message was presented in a good form. I am curious why you chose to use "cru'lty's" written in this way. For me it is distracting as it stands out as a singularity in the way you wrote the rest of the text. Not a problem ,still a great poem. Congratulations on another great write.

It was to wave off the syllable police, Robert, but I think you're right, I'll correct it, great review my friend, blessings Roy

ahhh I thought that was the reason, but dropping the word The at the beginning of the line would have taken care of that I believe.I didn't do a syllable count. Best to ya Roy keep 'em coming.

Too bad about the Passion image - Jim Caviezel does present a more convincing image of our Jewish Messiah! From my own personal application of scripture, I am not overly fond of images of Him being portrayed or especially sculptures, but that is an aside.

Your poem is most excellent. There are no suggestions I have to make to improve it's quality.

I enjoyed your author's notes also. I pondered, how they identified Him after His resurrection and was reminded of a line from a song: "known by His scars". I also thing they recognized Him by His love. Have you ever met someone and could not remember name or face, but just KNEW that you knew them somehow?

Thanks for sharing this, Roy!
Blessings,
Marsha

Thanks so much Marsha, for the excellent review, rating and comments, yes there was a strange connection I've had with a number of people, they turned out usually as brethren even though I hadn't met them before! blessings, Roy.

Roy, you have expounded the Word through rhythm, rhyme and images. Lovely. The poem resonates the underlying innuendoes of Christ bearing the pain of torture and death on the cross because He loves us and wants to set us free.
I like the line:
"in Jesus' blood, His Father's creed,
our union sealed, God guaranteed."

It is hard for the modern being to accept all that God's Son endured for us. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read.

Roy this is wonderfully penned. When I think of the cruelty of His death on the cross all for my sins I at times weep. The weeping is tears of joy that He could love me as much as he did to withstand the awful death. Why people cannot see what He did and accept that is beyond my understanding.

Hi Roy,

Good use of rhyming couplets throughout the piece. As usual very well written and good imagery throughout too.

Again I applaud your convictions and staying true to your convictions and beliefs in very trying times.

All the best

My friend it is true, historical evidence pointed clearly to Christ's birth and death and yet people still doubted His existence. Noah was laughed at before but the deluge took place, all were wrong. It will be the same when Jesus comes on the judgement day. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Roy, another lovely faith poem from you. Glad you chose the softer image to accompany your poem - very appropriate. Good rhyming couplets throughout with some really good internal rhyme which makes the poem read fluently. The sentiment is heartfelt which makes it such a good poem. Warm regards Dorothy x
