Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

that through it all, we're really small -- it's God who gets the glory.

And get the glory he should as I believe it is He who drives me these days. I don't write everyday except in my mind and mine aren't always a popular a topic. That doesn't matter. Write what you must is my only rule. It helps to dump crap and cleanses my soul. I hope it might even help others. Thank you. Blessings. Barbara

I agree, Barbara. It doesn't matter what we write or whether or not anyone reads it immediately or ever, for that matter. I have countless stories and poems written that only I have seen. So, I couldn't agree with you more.

Thanks for the wonderful feedback and the six stars. I really appreciate it. :)

This is a lovely read about the creativity inside of us and how we should and do strive to get our thoughts down on paper. I lick the idea of picking the lock of writers block. Nice one Dean from your gentler muse.

Hi Dean. I'm not qualified to give technical critique, but I so enjoyed the flow of this poem. It holds so much reality for me, and my imagination runs riot, now its just a matter of refining crude oil to gold . . . I hope, a;f

A couple of good rhetorical questions here, Dean.
The mind is a vessel to all things both creative and damning. How we use it is open to many things, yet we as writers try to aspire to creativity's voice, and in so doing, find the communication in bridging the gaps in thought.
Nice write.

A pleasant change from Dean's usual scary, creepy writing and images. Well chosen words and, might I say, a little inspirational. I have been in such a slump lately and you actually lit a fire under me. Wow, I'm so glad I clicked on this and read it. Thanks Dean.

There's no greater compliment than to have someone tell you that your work has inspired them, Barb. I very much appreciate that, because that's really what writing should be all about.

    You made my day! :)

So enjoyable and well said. (Also your author's note--giddy-up!) It's a delight and a curse to have our thoughts invade every moment and be compelled to put them down on paper/computer. This is excellent:
"It doesn't matter what we write, simply do it every day,
fight writer's block - pick the lock - allow your thoughts to have their say."

This is another good poem my friend. I don't know about inspiration though. Ask me when I have finished my novel and a publisher decides they want to print it lol. Thank you for sharing.

I really snap awake when I see you are stepping out of the box again. Love the horror but you are so eclectic that I think when you change it up, wondrous things fall from the tree.

Thank you Dean. I have learned not to question but to just jot it down so I don't forget. Is there such a thing as too much inspiration? I sometimes wish for writer's block...just to slow the flow.
