While very short this does manage to say quite a bit. A man who would spend the evening untangling a skein of yarn with his wife when he intended to watch basketball is a man in love.

Briefly said, you did came with complete story line, a good plot, the characters and a setting to present your general non-fiction definition of love. Nicely written with a twist of humor i your ending. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed it.

Yes, I know it takes time to get the tangles out. It's a slow process, but you get used to it. You did a good job writing a short story. I'm sure your wife enjoyed the time spent together on the floor. And the wine bottle half empty tells me why you decided to wait until tomorrow. LOL Drew

Unwinding yarn us to be a challenge. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is very good imagery.

Yes, I have to agree with the theme of this short work. Most times a great example of love in its purest form, is the little quiet moments spent doing the mundane. Well said.

That's what marriage is mostly about, isn't it, John? Just being together doing simple things, talking, staying close for a hug, laughing at the tangles life gives us. Very sweet story, actually. :)

Hi, John,
What a sweetheart you are.
My hubby would do the same for me, and interestingly enough, he would have NO problem at all with a glass of wine and basketball to get him through it. LOL
Cute little story. Thx for sharing.
Cheers & Blessings

Now that is love! What a nice thing to do to help your wife. The wine and basketball would have definitely made it go faster.

Who says males are unfit to do some jobs like untangling skein of yarn? He or she (I suppose more of she) would change his or her impression after reading your post. Of course, you had a headstart of having your beloved by your side and a bottle of wine. Then two hours would appear as just ten minutes.

It is in the small things, that we find it, isn't it? Those experiences that really matter and are of importance to us.
Beautiful!
