You nailed this, Walt, as a feeling poem. Again and again, my friend, the words seep through the lines: why WOULD anyone want to torture himself to be a writer, "to gain grains of sand.
Why? I love this prose-poem, Walt. It vindicates what I do and lets me know there is at least another writer/brother out there.

This . . . Young man was a delightful read. I looked for grammatical errors and found none. (I am not an English Professor, but I did major in English in my undergrad degree.) I looked for a flow and found it. I also looked for two other things: Interest, and it did catch my fancy, but I also looked for a unique angle. Waal laa . . . there it was! The short bursts of phrases that evoke significance and meaning. My favorite part was the sacrosanct phrase, "Background seeing believing hand in the side, fingers in the holes, pictures burnt deep into memory," VERY CLEVER and very engaging. This was well written. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. May God Bless You Happy Valentines.

This essay certainly covers all aspects of being a writer. You cover everything really clearly and all the elements of being a writer are captured in your essay. There are so many different kinds of writing and it is always interesting to look at types of writing we may have forgotten about. A great way to jog the memory again. I really enjoyed reading this.
