This was a clever write! I enjoyed the style and the short word choices and phrases that made them stick in the reader's mind. Great descriptive images as well! A very creative piece and congratulations on your win! Nicely done!!

Thank you, Travis. I didn't think it would do as well as it did, and it's certainly not garnering many stellar ratings. I suppose readers felt it was just enough to barely squeak by.

Thanks again for the great feedback, and for taking the time to review the poem for me. ~Dean

What a great poem of contrasting thoughts, Dean. I really enjoyed this - you pose a relevant question. And, it might even cause one to think about tolerance for other people and their preferences... Good win here!

This is so clever. You got to stick with the horror theme and still make it humorous. Great job. I liked the idea of comparing both stanzas, I think the first one is a 10 on my
"horrormeter" You deserve to win.

Congrats on the win :-)

Clever concept
for a two stanza poem;
lay out the choice,
Pick one or pick two
but what should I make
of the twist at the end?

Not stanza one
or stanza two
as one would expect -
instead you amend
to number two!

LOL

Hi, Dean,

Congrats on the win.

Can't I have/like a mixture of 1 and 2?? Make my own combo, super-sized! LOL

As always, very creative and 'scarily' done!

Cheers & Blessings

Dean ...I love your two stanza prompt
I knew your stands-ah would be ghoulish but mulligrubs and canaries that made me chuckle...can I just say I am neither stanza one or number two...
Oh for a three stanza prompt
God bless:o)

Thanks, Jenny. We both know which side of the fence I hang my hat on. Many have stated that they're somewhere in the middle. Is there a "gray" area in such matters? Based on your comments, I suppose there is. I sure haven't found it.

But your poems on JESUS on the cross...and the one on abortion...show that you are not just a ghoul guy.
You are not just a Poe -t

No, and I don't claim to be any "one" thing, Jenny. Just a man, and that's all.

Hi Dean! The poem is creative, descriptive, flowing with horror
and with the beauty of nature! I love the poem - certainly thought provoking! The artwork is exceptional as always and compliments the two stanzas of this poem well.

This is an eerie poem. I like the pictures especially the moving ones. Is that a program or something? Congratulations on a well deserved win and thank you for sharing. Well done my friend.

They are animated gifs, dmt, which can be assigned html codes and displayed on any webpage that accepts html code, as FanStory does. it also works the same for static photos and artwork as well.

Thanks so much fr the review. ~Dean

Needless to say, great alliteration ...And you stumped me on a Word- braw (grand, fine). As for writing, I don't think that it would come as any surprise that I favor the first stanza. Elves, dwarves and faeries- yuck. And when the two get together, a sub genre- dark fantasy ( which really is just horror).

Thanks, Ed, and I don't have much love for the fluffier things life has to offer us either. I prefer the business end of a sharpened razor blade myself.

Thanks for you comments and review. :) ~Dean

Geeze, Dean. We know which side of the fence you sit on.I've seen inside your head, remember. This is quite charming. Contrast the ghoulish thoughts with the faerie minded, and ask which are you? Loved the art work, the clever lists of evil and saccharine, the internal/end rhymed lines and the whole effect of the poem. Most original.

Thanks, Mark. My only regret is that I only had two stanzas. I could have went on, and on, LOL.

    Thanks again! :)
