WOW! That was an exciting read. Your Intro set the stage for excitement and I wasn't disappointed.
With all that violence, you saved the story by introducing the little girl. Good move.
I enjoyed the way you led me into each scene. Well done!
My only critique is your unneeded use of profanity. A little goes a long way, and too much takes away from the shock value of the words.
Good work, keep writing.

The swearing isn't there for shock value. It is very much a part of everyday language in that part of the world in those circles. While it may offend some it is "real" so it has been included.

Many thanks for a great review. Much appreciated

Hi there. This captured the essence of days gone by rather well. The story flowed and gave a graphic image of the situation. Good luck in the contest, alf

I am so sorry I am out of sixes. This was a brilliant write and felt as if it could even have been a true story. Great plot, great characters and a fast paced story. I wanted to weep for that little girl who wet her pants, bless. From being part of a criminal gang to protecting others from a criminal gang. Your author notes, really cut deep as well. I have heard of these troubles in Ireland, read books about them, but knowing your friend lost a foot and had to have her head stapled back together brings it right to the front. This was a great entry for this contest, good luck. Genya

It is rooted in reality. The petrol bomb incident is true as indeed the events in Omagh. It was difficult to escape this kind of life. Much more difficult than portrayed in the story.

This is exciting and well documented. Bringing the violence of the past up as a comparison to the present terrorist bombing/attacks is highly relevant.
I like the voice. It's personal and effective, showing his emotions and observations.
Well done. Very enjoyable reading.

Many thanks but the violence in the province hasn't stopped, it has just stopped being reported. Media again! Your review is very much appreciated

My wife. Daughter and I were in Northern Ireland just a couple of days after the Omagh bombing, I can remember the floral wreaths and flowers, the damage to this area was terrible. I think even the IRA were shocked, people from both sides died! Now that was really one of the bombings that made absolutely no sense. I'm living in a country that has virtually no sectarian violence at all, it makes little sense to us! Well written, great imagination, well composed and designed, I was engaged from beginning to end, no spags detected, good luck, well done, blessings, Roy.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Our 'commanders' always seemed to know where the holes where in the patrols.
Please rectify this minor error. My Rating speaks my opinion.Pretty much a contemporary issue, so quite informative and
'one man's terrorist is another man's hero.' A phenomenal point. It Is implicit yet quite neglected point.
The spirit of kindness and decency always garners appreciation so I'm not going to elaborate on that underlying message. All The best.
