Occasionally I need Depends and always tell the cashier they are for my mother. This is a good chapter. You do a terrific job conveying the emotional chaos that preparing to care for our mother caused. But you do it without whining and I like that. Great work with this one and I look forward to the next chapter.

Thanks, Sasha. LOL about the Depends. I thought Frank would need them for a while, so I bought a package at the Dollar Store just in case. Appreciate the comment about not complaining. What good would it do?

Now my response all Depends, oops, I mean depends on how I am feeling about someone mentioning Depends, which is coming for me sooner than I want. I loved the way you tell this story and got a chuckle or two along the way. Blessings, Patricia

Thanks, Patricia. Fortunately, my mother never had to depend on them . Ha,ha.

You're sister raped? What a shock to find that out. Seems like you adjusted pretty well. I few more details might be nice. You make it sound like it was easy for you but you want us to believe that it's not so. I like the inner dialogue. It reveals much about you, and as I know I keep telling you you deal with difficulty and tragedy with humor.

Found one little minor nit:
Mom.. In September... You can eliminate one of those periods.

Funny you mention the embarrassment of buying Depends. Tampons still make me blush and I am glad those days are almost behind me.... Didn't have that reaction when I had to buy depends for a friends mother. Guess I could have said "they're not mine; they're for my mother."

Thanks for the heads up on the nits. I added a little more about the rape. But in all honesty, it was hard to connect with my sister in Chicago and me in Florida. We were never close even in college. Her choice. She preferred friends to family. I remember the first time I purchased Kotex. The clerk was about 19. Talk about embarrassing!
