Yes drugs have always been used by performers and date back long before the 1960s, Mario Lanza is a good example.

I was greatly saddened when Jimi Hendrix died, I still listen to his inspired guitar playing.

A well described journey of descent down the rabbit hole. Written to your high standard with animated pictures.

Impeccable, creative and so inspiring.

Well written Dean, and well researched, I sung in a rock band back in the sixties, and I sung some of these songs, I'm not entirely sure I agree that some have the background of these songs, but I was aware of the theories, but it doesn't detract that this was beautifully scribed, of course the design and background is outstanding and so is the sewn in songs, nice general rhyming, even effective meter, good stuff mate, blessings, Roy.

Hi Dean - This is a dazzling piece of writing. I never liked the story of Alice in Wonderland. It's considered a classic but I found it weird, like a nightmare. But I love your references and the display, as usual, is exemplary - how do you do it. Your reference to Psychedelic delicacies - I think Lewis Carroll was partaking some of these when he wrote this story. Your poem gives some great references to great performers and their music. I love 'Lucy in the sky with diamonds' and 'Puff the magic dragon' we, my kids and I sang that one a lot. Great deal of work went into both your poem and author notes - Very well written - I feel dizzy after all the movement in your display. You deserve your rank near the top. Warm regards Dorothy x

It's very long, but very informative and helpful. I still like Puff the Magic Dragon and Horse with No Name. I didn't know it's about drugs.

I think, taking drugs results from their hollow success.

Greatly penned c", mae

Hello there~!
When I read it, I read it as a thrilling take on the original story. Ah, but the notes make a lot of the phrases clear. You've used so many references. that is amazing.. And it has a message too. This is really good! Well done!

JazakAllah Khair~!
(God Bless~!)

Dean this is a good poem and I enjoyed reading. The fact is there are so many who are being led astray by the music industry with the music glorying drugs, homosexuality and prostitution. We are in a day when they are calling evil good and good evil. We as Christians need to pray like never before for the youth of our world that they will not be drawn into the rabbit's hole. Patricia

Horror? That's hearing Joplin scream and Jefferson Airplane
go on about White Rabbits in the Nam bush or the Aleutians.
Whiter Shade of Pale haunted us....missed it all. Puff was a DC3 Dakota fitted with broadsides of miniguns...

Your innovation doesn't need man-made chemicals to take seed.

Creativity isn't dead -- it lives, lies dormant in our head.

Strong closing lines and god advice.
Reviewing your poems is always a treat and all I need to say is WEll DONE!!!!!!

Those were wild days, the drugs were everywhere. I loved the music of those days, but fortunately I wasn't quite old enough to understand that a lot were about drugs, nor old enough to go where you could get them. Drugs are still being taken by our pop stars and musicians, they never learn. Excellent poem, Dean. xsx Sandra
