A choice of art work that works so well
with your poem that is in rhyming quatrains
telling the grim reaper just where to go
Well done

At my age - 75, I have made a deal with God to allow me freedom, but when it is time to take me he does it cleanly and silently. I hope he lives to my expectations and provides me at least 10 more year as he did my parents. Like your own attitude toward the grim-reaper. Good rhyme, rhythm and message.

    Thanks, Alan.

Didn't know God was open to such deals - He seems to have a poor sense of right and decent sometimes...

The dialect is hilarious and self righteous. The tone punches death in the face and smirks while doing it. The narrator is not afraid of the Grim Reaper and has no problem telling him who is the boss. This is a well deserved All Time Best poem. I wish I could give you a 6, but I don't have anymore. However, please don't let that count because your poem is delightful.

It ain't much but it brought more than a grin, not quite a belly-laugh but damned near. Was it as much fun to write as it is to read? I suspect so.

Well said! Great rhyme and rhythm with a very satisfying and no-nonsense ending! You should have saved it for next Halloween! Anyway, live long and prosper...

Thanks you - Halloween's too far away - I'd have forgotten it by then, or perhaps the reaper may have already called! :O)

If only we could do such a thing wouldn't that be great. But sometimes a positive attitude could be a good recipe for a cure if one is ill and facing death.

Short and to the point.

The rhyme was superb and the meter was balanced.

Loved the third line. 'Be off and chop some other chap.'

Preiceless

Wouldn't it be nice if we could just send him packing? Maybe not, though. After a couple hundred years of this life, I think we'd get bored. There's a TV show called "Forever", and it makes it seem like a cool idea. Nah! An ordinary healthy lifespan and I'm outta here!

Good rhyming and a nice, steady rhythm. A fun read. Love the artwork.
