Awe, what a sweet face - full of life. This is a wonderful tribute to your spunky lively daughter and she will be thankful to have this in future years. Such a cute picture. She is obviously the apple of your eye. Well done.

I love too the photo of Alexis, she is a bubbly girl and i guess she's just exploring life and enjoying it. The poetic lines of the author is an affirmation of celebrating life with Alexis.

Ah, the pleasures of watching a young child enjoying every breath she/he takes is a pure delight. Really like on how you describe that in:
"as she transforms from
sedentary to effervescent"
Wonderfully written. Good luck with the contest. Les

Kids are free spirited and even though people say they'd go back to being a kid in a heart beat I don't know if I would. Maybe. It seems like you need an awful lot of energy to do that. LOL. Kids are fun though. Great job

Hi Jan - what an uplifting poem about Alexis. Good free verse about a lively little girl who is also able to sit quietly and absorb her mind in things. A good normal little girl and a good write. Lovely picture. Good luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy x

Jan, I wonder if Lexi is a special grandchild. She's very cute and apparently gives you inspiration to write beautiful poetry. An award winning poetic piece!! Carole

I like your very descriptive poem about an energetic little girl. I felt the same way about my granddaughter in her younger days. She's now a much more sedate 18-year-old, although she still has her moments. :) Is Alexis (Lexi) your darling granddaughter?
You've made wonderful use of alliteration to increase the flow of your well chosen words with split second/stimulus and perforrmance/pure.
Well done! Happy New Year! Alana
