How could I ever run from Him
or find another way,
He's captured ev'ry part of me
my soul, my heart, my day.

I tried to run for years and run my own life, but finally figured out He can run it so much better than me. Very good poem. We can hardly say enough good about our Lord, can we? Loved the ending.

Hi, Roy,

Beautifully stated from the heart.

As I read the third stanza, I was reminded of a show on TV, called 'House Hunters.' Not sure if you get it, but it's a show about people buying homes--from permanent to vacation homes. What always strikes me is how some people are so nit-picky. Perfectly good appliances, kitchens, etc., and yet they would buy it and gut the place--just because they don't like something--and it may be brand new!!

Not to mention the ones who can afford million dollar homes, boats and boat docks, and still they complain. What is wrong with such materialistic people??

He was born into a home of simple people, yet love abound. It really makes one step back and take stock of how far from Grace we have fallen as a society.

Sorry, I went off on a tangent. But, my point is, if we thought more of others and less of ourselves and creature comforts, perhaps He would be able to smile down on us.

Beautiful poem and message, my friend.

*Happy Holidays*

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'... Jackie (*;*)

Thank you Jackie, you picked the thrust of the poem, His generosity outstrips ours, the whole message is about giving, and sacrifice for others, your literature betrays you as putting relationship before anything else, which is what He was saying to us, great review, Jackie, thanks, blessings, Roy.

Hello dear Roy

What a beautiful expression of faith in such a moving and personal manner. Excellent rhyme and rhythm throughout and wonderful image.
"He Left His wondrous throne for love
to walk the dust of earth,
exchanged His riches for a trough
revealed to us our worth." -- Excellent opening verse. Takes the reader back to the time of Jesus and I can feel the grit and dust He walked in everyday to preach and work His miracles.

" ... to heal the sin worn rift." -- you need a hyphen here ... 'sin-worn rift.'

You jump to the contemporary in your third verse ... a more modern expression of how He lived his life ... appealing to the emotions of those whose thinking/identity ventures more to the current day.

Then an acknowledgment not all may see Him as you do, "but I say He's my saviour Lord
who died my sin to ban." -- I think a comma after 'died," though I'm not an expert on grammar.

A very powerful closing and genuine expression of how your faith makes you feel.
I think a question mark after "or find another way".

"He's captured ev'ry part of me
my soul, my heart, my day." -- and ending of abundant joy and love in your Lord.
Well done my friend. Wishing you great happiness and joy to you and your loved ones. A safe and holy Christmas and wonderful New Year. Hugs - Lovi xoxo

The specific reason God sent his only begotten son to Earth was to save our souls and ultimately die for us to redeem our sins. To truly follow Christ we must follow His example, to be charitable and serve others, just as He did. Good clear spiritual message and excellent rhyming to convey your thoughts. Great picture to compliment. Faye

This is a beautifully written poem about the reason Jesus came to earth, The last verse is so meaningful to me as he has been a part of me. Merry Christmas and Gods blessings. Patricia

He did not own a sailing boat or beach house by the shore, he rose each day to heal the sick to save the rich or poor. How true, how amazing a man who had nothing gave so much. I loved this beautiful poem. So many words that mean so much to so many people. A message and story which we should all remember. Loved this and thank you so much for sharing it. Genya

Pure love, created a body, poured itself within, presented itself openly, allowed man to handle it, without spot or wrinkle, manifested in the male gender, symbolic as the head gender. Shown before all mankind, seven spirits of authority brought from humility to wisdom, knowledge, understanding, counsel, might, reverence, authority, "Never a man spoke like this!"

A well rhymed poem of faith that tells the Christmas and Easter stories and what they mean to a person of faith.
