What a wonderful testament of your love for God and His Son who came to wash away our sin. That is a beautiful picture Roy. Why isn't this in one of the contests? It could have been in the Faith or the Christmas contest. Well done! :<) Nancy

Greetings royowen,
This is a heartfelt poem and echoes the spirit of the holiday.
It amazes me sometimes how people cannot grasp the meaning of Christ's ransom sacrifice and why it could only be offered through our Heavenly Father. The fat that Jesus remained faithful to the end is most praiseworthy. It would have proved disastrous if He would have succumbed to sin.
My best to you during this holiday season. ;) Chrisfiore

Merry Christmas, Roy! You've certainly penned a beautiful work, so worthy of the season! I like your consistent 8-6-8-6 syllable pattern, and the rhythm is very lyrical. Beautifully rhyming, and a strong message throughout.
One line to consider:
To save the rich or poor. vs. To save both rich and poor.
The original makes is sound like an either/or in terms of which group was saved... using both/and makes it clear that Jesus was an ALL saving redeemer!
Cheers!

A beautifully put together poem full of love and care. It is relevant to the author and his Lord.
The rhythm carries us from word to word and strengthens the meaning.
The focus our faith. The storyline development what He gave up for us to save us.
The narrative shows action the giving up his life style to live in poverty to save us.
The hook we only have to accept him to live in heaven with him.
Keep on writing.
Roy, may the spirit of God give you and yours peace and joy.
Walk with God,

This poem really deserved six stars for the truth in its message. Poems are meant to do that, to preach and save people, to awaken the readers from their lethargy and your poem did just that. Thanks for sharing the truth to us and your unmatched faith in Jesus. God bless.

How do people get through each day without believing this? Faith is my most precious gift and the peace it provides. Thanks so much for posting this beautiful reminder during the birthday season of Christ.

Every year we're overwhelmed with stories about the "true" meaning of Christmas and it gets tiresome with everyone's take on it. But not this one. It really kept me reading and thinking and that's what literature is all about. Well done.
