This a wonderful story and I enjoyed reading it. Rhythm and rhyme add to its spell. Congratulations on the win, it is well deserved. I always wondered who started winter, especially when I'm shivering outside.

Beautiful story. Well written. You should publish this as a children's book. Loved the flow and the rhythm.
Thank you for posting.

I love stories about fairies. That photo is so awesome matching the vivid glimmering imagery of the fairies. Musical rhymes play a dainty tune with the goodwill deeds of the head fairy knitting warm coats and hats.liberty justice

For goodness sake, how in Heaven's name did I miss THIS one??!! It is absolutely beautiful and marvelously rendered in every way, rhyme, rhythm, articulation, just everything - a joy to read and appreciate, because obviously, I am young in heart and spirit, and the children will LOVE it...

Very nice, almost as if written as an old fable. Personally, I enjoy poems that have rhymes, as long as they are done well. Thank you, job well done. The first five star I've given.

Wow! This poem is my first read since returning to the site. I'm still trying to navigate as the site has changed drastically since I was last here. I love that you wrote this about your daughter :) Your imagination is wonderful and rich! A great story is told in this poem. Love your use of quatrains. This is a fine example of the poetry I have been missing out on during my absence. Six stars for you.

Thanks so much, Joy. I so appreciate the generous stars. My favorite way to navigate is to find the little wheel/flower icon in the top left corner of the page you get when you open the new version of the site, which takes you back to classic fan story, the old familiar site. LOL :-) Brooke

Just read your Poem of the month. A beautiful poem well deserving of the award. I loved so many phrase in this poem, like "a spell as old as the forest where evergreens dwell.' There is so much magic here, you must be a descendant of Miranda the Merry. From sunbeams to snowflakes and oh, so much more - beautiful.

rspoet, thank you so much - I'm very proud of that poem, written for my daughter Miranda, the world's biggest fairy fan and fairy collector, including her three fairy tattoos :-) Brooke

My goodness, Brooke, what a beautiful poem! I don't know how I missed reading it before.
You have created a magical story with such vivid visual imagery. It is a delight to read out loud with its perfect meter and musical couplet rhymes.
The alliteration throughout adds so much to the musicality of this piece, as does the masterful use of enjambment.
Well done, my friend, and congratulations on a much deserved recognition with this gem.
All my best,
Lena
