this is an excellent write, Barbara, you did an excellent job writing this chapter where soni goes off on her own to get midnight. alex refuses to go thinking that he needs to respect her decision. jim takes off after her instead. I spotted a couple of errors. should be Soni plugged in her phone instead of pone. and it's inhumane instead of inhuman.

Good chapter, Barbara!

She closed her eyes and took a long deep breath,(no comma) before she returned it to its spot and then touched the Heckler and Koch P2000. I'm better with this one. She fastened a holster around her hips and placed the gun in it,(no comma) before she grabbed ammunition.

After a stop in her room, where Soni grabbed two knives, one she put inside her right boot and the other in a sheath and attached to her belt, she headed outside
(Better?: Soni stopped by her room and grabbed two knives. One, she put inside her right boot; the other,in a sheath attached to her belt. Then she headed outside.)

Gus pointed the direction Soni had rode (ridden) off in and then glanced at his watch.

"Which is better a hurt(,) or worse(,) dead Soni, or her being upset with you a few days?"
