Oops. I read this out of order. Wondered why the opening of The Bill didn't make sense. Another crooked politician in league with the Mafia. Are you sure this is fiction? This chapter makes clear that Lorna is gay --very subtle though.

Thank you so much, Shari. It may be fiction, but the political/govt stuff is based on reality. Corruption is rampant in Congress. We need term limits to keep getting fresh blood in there, those men and women who want to work for the PEOPLE, not themselves. After too long in office, corruption does creep in it seems.

Good chapter, I should be back with FS. We finally had the trial today. He was found guilty of 2 charges, but hasn't been sentenced. That is a part of my life I am really glad is over. Take care, my friend~Debbie

Thanks, Debbie. Glad to hear at least he was found guilty. Now let's hope they lock him up where he can dry out and cure his alcoholism, and hopefully get treatment for whatever his other problems are. It's for the best. If he doesn't get the help he needs, tell the judge to include it. You will have a chance to speak before sentencing, I think. Therapy, meds, doctors, some sort of mental help MUST be included in the sentence. Be SURE the judge knows that!

This is a very good chapter, Phyllis. You described a gangster look to a T. Lawyers and gangsters and devils, oh my. (my take on a line from wizard of oz; left out politician but that wouldn't work with the meter) Oh, God, I'm rambling. I liked this chapter -- very well written. Hugs, Lou

Well - knowing Luke is usually wrong - I'm guessing the senator may not be too happy to have open ties to the mob - especially romantic ones concerning Blaze.

Thanks again. Sebastian is too interested in BLaze to notice or care, but Lorna will. :)

Luke and the senator in the same room at the same time with Blaze and Lorna can only mean Trouble, with a capitol T. Thanks for the pleasure of another fine chapter at leaves us wondering what will happen next. Great job. :-)

You have a knack for picking the exact right moment to end your chapters, Phyllis!

I love the idea of Luke with a mobster look. Great description of his outfit. All that was missing was the violin case!

Good dialogue, and quite a complicated plot. It reminds me of Dallas. I am finding this quite hard to follow. I think Blaze and Blake are too similar sounding. Blaze is the female demon, but who is Blake? -- sorry I forgot.

Thanks again. Blake is Senator Sebastian Blake. I guess I should have chosen a different last name for him, since it's similar to Blaze... easy to confuse the two. I will change his name in the final published edition. Thanks for the idea. :)

The transaction provided in each chapter are not jolting and make sense. It feels natural for Luke to turn up at the Senator's house as a greasy, mobster. Each chapter keeps me on my toes. I haven't come across one that made me fall asleep.

Yup, the hits (maybe hit-men?) just keep coming. I see nothing to note for suggestions. I think the story is turning into a full fledged war of politics. Until next time :)

Thanks again. The politics is necessary so that Blaze will see what can happen when people are corrupt. Blake will turn her off to corruption eventually and she'll decide to work against Lucifer to see that justice is done wherever she finds the result of a corrupt court, police dept, govt, etc. She's going to become a vigilante. That's what all this is leading up to. :)

wow that picture sure does look mobish. Since Nixon hired mobsters to kill Castro, this shouldn't surprise anyone. lol. Senator might find it handy to know him. Still think Luke can find good use for Lorna.

Thank you, Carolyn. Lorna is corrupt enough for Luke. She'll surely end up in Hell one day, and she might rise to the top with the demons. :)
