Great job! This was very dark and twisted but also moving... Very few people can both depress and uplift someone at the same time, but you did with this piece. It was great.

Dean;
exceptional presentation and composition with tactful alliteration("showing signs")("statistics, signs") and excellent rhyming (which is neither forced nor labored) and impressive imagery(both descriptive and expressive): "His fleshless face locked in an ethereal grin, he's truly never had much of a voice. A bony fist rests 'neath his osseous
chin-- As he ponders who'll be his next choice."
A very clear and resourceful inventive and creative imagination that is clearly demonstrated in your poem.
Thank you for sharing and posting this Dean and I hope you had a very happy Thanksgiving.
Alex

Isn't it true that all too often, after someone has killed themselves, that their friends and family say that they had been acting strangely? Perhaps if someone had taken the time to ask what was wrong, and had not accepted "nothing" as an answer, it would have made a difference.

It is sad, Ward, and all too true, I'm afraid.

    Thank you for your feedback.

Lots of lore meshed with the death angel makes a classic piece. The graphics are awesome as always. Too many end their life too soon, believing it's the only end to their pain.

Hi Dean,
This is a powerful piece of writing! I appreciated this raw and gritty theme put to rhyme.
Depression leads to with-drawl from society with disastrous consequences...as you point out in your author's notes.
Death is final, and really, there is so much to live for if the mind can be re-awakened to the wonders of life. It's sad to watch people give up.
Great job with this emotional theme. Hopefully it will spur someone to take action.
Best wishes, Bill

Great poetry and advice of awareness for all. I like the photos and music. Life is worth living, maybe rethinking and helping others. So many focus on self and believe in lies. Life is NOT perfect. I like the tomorrow will dawn, new mercies everyday, joy in ashes. Thank you.

I will get Annie back on Friday...joy in her heart!

Dean, this is a masterpiece and speaks to me. You've gone way beyond the genre of horror. You've painted a "picture" to bring home truths that are worse than tragic myth. Let me say that I have a beautiful daughter who was a cutter" and attempted suicide. She failed and now has a perfect little boy and a great life ahead. This moved me, plain and simple, but not in simplistic terms. The package you created is stunning in presentation and shows me just how deeply you are able to understand and convey the darker recesses of the human condition and how frail we are. Your chosen or rather gifted insights into how darkness relates to life and the symbiosis between the dark and light is incredible. Your level of expertise at crafting these works is above anyone I've read. You are a professional and I admire your work. I love your work and I know I will each time I look into it. I've never been disappointed. I just know it'll be great.
Still, this one is my favorite and the way you have incorporated the old mythology and expose ever- relevant
issues like teen depression, suicide and parents who bow to the false sense of being a politically correct parent. It's spot on. I think my favorite part is the picture of the young girl with the self-loathing or derogatory comments. It's just God-awful sad and really, really hit me because of my Katie. Sorry for being long over-due and so elaborate now on this work, but you've struck it perfectly here. Take care, Bruce.
I, myself, have been resting these last few days and felt very(unusually, too) uninspired. Maybe, tonight my mojo may kick in! LOL I hope so.

Holy cow!! Overall presentation is outstanding!! The lines about the girl down the lane and the Teacher, and then with those illustrations/images - wow!!!

What I really loved though, was the author notes. Not only was there some interesting education on Greek Methodology - but a VERY important message to end such an eerie yet beautiful piece of work. Well done. :)

Dean, you're so dark, but make it work so well.

I love the part about "Life's so precious to just throw it away." Well said.

Overall, I liked it. Thanks for sharing, Brent.

Greek Mythology is one of my favorite areas. Getting back to the real world...my brother committed suicide not too far back so on a personal level, there is a sad place and within the grip of your character, one never knows what is possible to that which is not.

For overall aspects of work, including author's notes, this has my sixth star
Best wishes,
RG
