This is good. I enjoyed the verses and how they flowed together. The rhyme went very well. The message was direct and the explanation in the Author's note was great. Thanks for a change in reading.

You are absolutely right, my friend, we have so many reasons to love life. I usually shake my head in disbelief when I heard someone committed suicide. What a lame excuse just to solve a problem?

But I think about suicide a lot. I just can't agree on what will happen to me after haha...

I love reading your works esp when there are added info like this. Is the ferryman also the grim reaper? You research so much about them hehe...

It's past midnight here in the Philippines, I've turned off the volume of my laptop. Good night! c", mae

Thanks a million, c",mae, and no, the Grim Reaper and Charon, the Ferryman, are two completely different entities. Just pray neither one of them ever has to come looking for you! Not for a long, long time, anyhow.

    Nite-Nite, and pleasant screams, heh-heh... :}

A Grimm take with a positive message in the end, written with your signature trappings. The Stygean Kingdom I thought was over the River Styx. Excellent rhyming. Great graphics. Smooth flowing. Creepy feeling. Well done.

Thank you, Tom, and you're right, it is. At least in Greek mythology it is. Charon, the Ferryman, takes the souls of the dead across the River Styx, to Hades. Now, why someone would want to pay to go to Hades is beyond my meager comprehension, but they must pay him or he tosses them out of his boat. But, hey, the ancient Greeks wrote it, not me, LOL...

Dean, you have created a strong poem about death and how some are so broken that they feel it is their only choice. Great job with the end rhymes as well as the inner rhyming. Strong imagery from words as well as pictures.

Dean, this is fantastic. Your horror genre is just superb. I am sure, you will get the Seal if Quality because you introduce somethig so unique that the public would definitely want to read. This is awesome. I loved the pictures. I love the description of this this monster/devil/executioner/ Grim Reeper's helper. And that poor young girl who is about to take your life because she thinks this is the end of the lane for her. Very well done. Superb presentation. Bravo!

A-w-w, you're too kind, Yelina, but I'm very grateful for your kindness. I feel if parents would get more involved in their kids extracurricular activities more often, then these things would happen a lot less frequently.

Thanks so much again. I sincerely appreciate it, very much~

Lovely and fitting pictures that complement your poem so well. You teach us some Greek mythology, which I got at secondary school. Your poem refreshed this.

Sad stories of life soon to end unless these victims of life's tragedies receive help from a friend who would put their actions toward themselves on a better road. Charon is merciless.

Thanks for your exceptional rating and feed back on this one, Alan. it's true, many times if intervention isn't made on the part of troubled souls, it may be too late for them. But if we, as parents, friends and loved ones, pay closer attention and pick up on some of the subtle hints and signs, then we can often step in and take actions to help them.

Again, I truly appreciate your review, my friend, and thank you! ~Dean

Noone knows who is next. This is the great pain and fear of life. But we need not wait. Life is precious as you say and I agree.
This a great piece of write. It takes strength and conviction to pen.
Take care. Benny Beeharry

I Have never heard the word Stygian? The only thing brought to mind, the River Styx where, for a penny the ferryman will take you across after death. Crikey! This is a black subject, hope it ends at the pearly gates and roads paved with gold! You sure put a lot of time and effort into showing us the end of days - Brrr. I don't know whether I should say - thanks for sharing, rather hear the trumpets blaring! LOL.

Hah-ha, thanks, Aussie, and it is a rather dark topic. My hopes are that this might cause someone to play closer attention to their loved ones who might be in need.

Thanks for the exceptional rating and review. It is appreciated.
