I have also found a few glasses of wine, acts as a great medication for the virus. But only a few. After that, oh my!
Whatever is written is usually really sick.

I totally love your plan and tonic cure for that ever
dreaded curse, 'Writer's Block'! Your wit and humor
simple as it sounds, holds more profound truth and
reality, than all the pills or pity party blahs
one can ever take! The muse after all, operates
on imagination, vision, revelation, and enthusiasm,
not clock work ticks or key stroke kicks...it is
always within, not in outer controls.
Thanks for sharing a very delightful
presentation and one can grab a pen to and catch
that flow!

I do hope you're right
I keep waiting
But nothing comes to mind
So, I keep waiting, hoping
For words to cover the blank page, Buck

Yes this is a good little poem about writer's block. Word flow and rhyming say it all. No doubt something that happens to every writer, and yes there is no antidote.

Good job, Roy, with your poem about the disappearance of our muse when the holidays come around. My problem is I am so busy that I don't give my muse time to mustard up anything. I am so behind on everything, especially my reviews! Your poem made me smile and reminded me to just take a breath. It will all be better. 8)

The poem " Don't fret..." is a nicely composed non rhyming free verse format poem with good choice of words and nicely presented. The picture also complements the poem.

I think it is easy to try too hard to come up with the words we want to express what we want to say. I think it is best to stop trying for that moment and wait until something comes naturally.

I've always believed in the gentle attack. Writer's block is not the end , just a slowing of the flow. Fighting fire with fire, forcing and railing against the condition worsens it. Just continue to show up and the flow will return.
