Bravo! Yes, indeed. "Count your blessings" is always good advice, but it's never been said as well before. I lovvve those opening lines:

For the roll in a roly poly,
for the cheese in my ravioli.

Those could only have come from the mind of a poetic genius and best-selling children's author. :)

Oh, wow! What a great poem! I think, combined with the stellar picture your son-in-law snapped, reading this poem would soften the heart of the most miserable person in the world! HAHAHAHA!!! It's pure joy expressed, in my opinion. LOVED it! :0)

What a wonderful family? I know they are a blessing to you. Are you going to be able to visit them this holiday season? I sure hope so.

This is a 6 star for sure. I really like the simple message and the flow of the verses. The rhyme go so good together and when reading it a smile comes to a person's face.

Brooke: this poem brought me to tears. It is so true that we thank God for the big things but need to pay more attention to the little gifts we receive each day. Today I woke up, my old and damaged heart still beating. I am thankful. This is a most beautiful poem for children. Everything is child relatable and the rhyme makes it a little bit fun within a serious subject. I adore the new picture of Sawyer with his little fists beneath his chin. The look on his face is pure angel! The picture with he and his parents is so sweet. He is a very lucky young man to have such a wonderful family. Happy Thanksgiving! Linda

Linda, thank you so much. I just love that new portrait. It was taken in Subway after his My Gym class where he was a super good boy. His mom told him he had been so good he could get a cookie, and he was giving her his "I'm happy you're praising me and getting me a treat" look. LOL :-) Brooke

Precious Brooke: I give thanks for you teaching me to take words and make poems with a beat. Thank you. This is adorable with life's simple ups and downs. The kite and the clouds, the cat in your lap and the pop that bursts.
What joy life brings and children keep us young.
God bless you and your precious family! flylikeaneagle

I love the little things in life too. The repetition of 'give thanks for the little things' adds a tremendous effect and impact on this piece. A wonderful creation, Brooke, and I give thanks for this 'little' poem.
