This is not only for children but for adults too. The best thing about being a young mom is seeing the world again through a child's eyes. Love your variety of details that appeal to the senses.

That is the smarest thing I have read today. It is the little things that help get us through life. Sometimes a smile will lift the deepest funk, and a joke will end a depression. Loved the selfie and the impish little smile. Great poem. Happy thanksgiving. Gretchen

A very enjoyable and appropriate Thanksgiving piece. I like the way the final stanza line alternates back and forth between stanzas--in that way it emphasizes without making the repetition dull. The concrete images throughout cover all the senses. Finally, I especially like this meter, with the anapestic foot buried mid-line.

This is an adorable poem of how a child gives thanks in life...it reminds me of all the simplicity adults tend to take for granted, having forgotten what a miracle it was to discover so long ago through childhood. Nicely written :D

There is so much truth in this sweet poem. Give thanks for the little things. Things that we take for granted every day, as if they will be there forever. Thank you for this poem reminding me to have a thankful heart. Hugs, Drew

Brooke, the meter is especially fun as it "rolls" along. LOL. Again, a simple, yet powerful reminder Such deep reasons to be thankful. Nice. :0 GracieAnn

What a lovely poem, Brooke. Everything we have comes from God and we should, indeed, always give thanks, even for the little things.

One of my most favorite sayings to live by is to be thankful for all the little blessing in life, for they do indeed add up to so much. My other favorite is to not sweat the small stuff.
Your words, the sentiment and the perfect flow made this such an uplifting and enjoyable read.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Teresa
PS.
Your uplifting writing and the wisdom that you share in your reviews make me very thankful for you.
