This is a nice cheery read Brooke, and I particularly like the two ending lines and the way you've used them in these verses. A nice read,

Hi Brooke
A very simple philosophy but so true, we do have to remind ourselves to be grateful and give thanks for little things
Well written, Well done

To adewpearl,
Life is a blurr. And oh what life experiences we all have to evoke when one is especially facing trials. But it is the little things we will remember when we enjoyed that time with someone that makes us feel special.
Nice flow and with excellent cadence.

I believe this to be one of your best poems and the family photo is perfect. Children are givers of love and joy, pity they have to grow up. You are right, we should give thanks for the little things, including the grey skies and the piles of snow that you wade through - guns and roses. Well done and six ****** virtual stars for the quality, rhyming, pace and timing. Well done nana.

Clever variation in the last stanza to signal the end of the poem (either that or you made a mistake! :o)
I loved the quirky rhymes (stanza 1 especially) and the feminine endings which add a playful touch.

Children know best how to give thanks for the little things not because they themselves are small but because they are closest to the essentials in all things. They will not be overwhelmed by anything at least not in the beginning. We should be able to learn from them; "And a little child shall lead them.."

you say it so well brooke. most of us are indeed fortunate and need reminders to appreciate the small things that make life joyful. it is all too easy to focus on the clouds that keep the sun from shining. and a little outreach also to those with less with less will enhance the glimmer of peeking sunshine. have a wonderful holiday. hi

Alas, I don't have a six, but work surely is worth that. We often forget the wonder in the little things that make life so grand, although the rose garden does have thorns. I enjoyed the read.
