Sasha-
No review, just best wishes for a positive outcome.
Praying don't hurt, but blowing up the bank would probably make you feel better. Just a thought.
All poking aside, I am very sorry to hear about that. This particular crime is real terror, regardless of where you live. Hang in there as best you can, and if it would help any, in all seriousness, I can send you a couple hundred or so, and I mean that in all truth. Been in a similar situation, and though I don't have much, I can help a little. PM me if you can use (and would take) the help. No strings attached, just feeling your angst. As I said, it ain't much, but sometimes a little is a lot.
JBCaine-

Thanks for the best wishes and hope for a positive outcome. I've lived here for ten years and despite not being able to learn the language I have learned about the law--or lack there of. Let me think about it for a few days, and I'll PM you. I want to see what Rebeca can do when we go to the bank tomorrow.

If Rebeca is anything like my hubby, she'll have that banker on his knees apologizing and also finding the thief. The Mafia is your next step. :-) Love the author's notes about quoting scripture and not being high on His list of priorities. "What fools these mortals be." I'm not posting much either these days. Working on revising Bobby's biography.

You still have your sense of humor as evident by your plea for adoption. :-)

Rebeca is not one to be messed with...and I do hope she gets those idiots off their asses and they do something!

I am sorry to hear the banks in Mexico are cutting costs at the expense of security and the customers, and are so slow at investigating cases. I can only hope that Rebeca can work some magic, since obviously the Consulate couldn't. Best wishes- Joan

No, the Consulate was not the least bit interested in helping. I also hope Rebeca can get through to the people at the bank.

I wish I could think of some helpful advice--I just hope this too passes and your toes heal quickly. Endless hugs- Joan

I fear my toes will heal long before the bank gets this sorted out...if they do anything at all.

love the title but am sad about the description line
unsure of my reaction, he places - add comma
how can a theft be a personal problem - is the guy supposed to have told you he's the one who cleaned you out??
You don't get a receipt??
I would gladly adopt you if I were not as poor as a church mouse. Had I a nice house with even one extra room, it would be yours, my friend :-) Brooke

Thanks for the kind words, but it is way too cold for me up there...I may hate summer here but I hate winter even more up there...lol
reply by adewpearl on 24-Nov-2014
yeah, this is not really the place to be for the next several months - we'll have to find you a rich friend in a nice, warm climate ;-)
reply by the author on 24-Nov-2014
Rich isn't necessary, but would be nice...lol
reply by adewpearl on 24-Nov-2014
That's what I say - nothing wrong with rich, so why not? LOL

Protect yourself. When I found out someone was monitoring my checking account, I closed the account. I closed my debit card from that bank. With a new account at a different bank, I monitor it, daily. When your account is raided, you have three days to block it. Unfortunately, I am talking about an American account. I don't know anything about, Mexico.

The banking rules are completely lost on me and the Mexican public. Since I have my SS check deposited here in Mexico it is not easy to close an account...try canceling a credit card! That practically takes an act of Congress...if they had a Congress.

    Good luck Sasha. Charlie

Wow! How can so much happen at once? I'll be hanging around hoping that something works out with the bank. It's seems like they should have insurance for that. Have you decided against moving to where your recent friend went?

Apparently there is a serious water shortage on/in the entire Baja and moving there is not practical. Now that I am broke, I have no choice but to stay put. I am sure it will all eventually get worked out. Whether or not I get my money back is still up in the air.
reply by seaglass on 24-Nov-2014
Are you changing banks? I would be afraid to put money back in that one.
reply by the author on 24-Nov-2014
I will eventually but I have to get this sorted out first...then go through Social Security and open a new account...not something I can do overnight.
reply by seaglass on 24-Nov-2014
I know. When I moved to California and changed banks, I held my breath until I knew SS sent it to the correct new bank.

Oh Smurphy, I feel like saying, at least you slept, but I am not sure of that either. Lighten up. Who said that? Screw them. And to add insult to injury, or is it the other way around? I hope your friend with one c can help.

Actually that has been the only bright side to this week. I have slept every night...thank heavens for drugs!!
reply by granny goes viral on 24-Nov-2014
OK, that is one. Gave up on the tea thing?
reply by the author on 24-Nov-2014
Yup. It did nothing for me. It was back to drugs or take up permanent residence on a psychiatric ward. I chose drugs.

Yeah, I like the idea of praying, but recently someone told me what Robin Williams said--in what context I'm not sure--when he was supposedly praying to God he asked if he could speak with his supervisor.

Tough breaks, woman, tough breaks.

Just so you know, because I know you are fascinated by the subject, there's a bloody wind--my loathsome least favourite weather element--blowing non-stop for the last 6hours with gusts hitting 80MPH. I feel like any minute I'll be swept off and wake up in Kansas.

Now that sounds horrible. I hate cold weather too. It will all eventually get better but I am just in a really crappy place right now. I a sure I will survive, just not sure I want too. Funny you mention Kansas, someone suggested I come visit them in Kansas...I politely declined.

I am sorry you have to go through what seems like a vicious circle. You have a right to be angry....it also seems so hopeless and renders you so helpless....really, I would never tell you to look on the bright side right now. Sometimes there is just shit, and yet, thank goodness, shit does end....maybe new shit crops up, but hang in there the best you can....I am happy you have Rebeca....reading this makes me see red....I would want to bang my head against the wall.

I have banged my head against the wall, but take my word for it, it doesn't help. It will get better eventually. Right now I am not the person you want to be around.
