You have to wonder a bit when there are all those people (usually about one third) who read but do not comment. Maybe it is a compliment of sorts and they just don't have time to read all these works and comment too.

What you mean is they read and don't want to tell the writer what they really think iof tghey think the writer is gonna jump down their necks. I wold be very disappointed to hear of writers doing this. As another reviewer of this poem has said why do we put our work out there for reviews? Do we want constructive help if necessary or do we just want everyone to always be "palavering" and complimentary on every instance. Thanks for coming by. You have a point. This poem was written as an inspiration from one of my new Fans whp ;iked my other poems along the same lines.Nice to meet you don't think we have met before.

It does seem that most of the reviews are positive whether I deserve a positive review or not. That doesn't help me learn much and after a while a false compliment doesn't help my suffering ego too much either. The prose people are much tougher. You must admit there are some poems that are so far out there in another orbit that I/we really don't have much to say about it. I used to comment anyway and get into trouble so now I tend to move on.

LOLOLOLOL!!! Couldn't agree more!!! Me, personally, I always try to respond and always try to take to heart what someone is telling me - seeing if I can take their advice and improve my work. Why wouldn't I want to do that?!? Improve my work?!? Besides, when someone is just pissy (pardon my french!) and reviews based on that - you can spot them coming from a mile away - so I definitely appreciate 98% of the reviews I've ever gotten (& the 2% - they've been MUTED! LOL!)!!!

Thanks Jill. As you7 might have seen ion other responses I wrote the poem on inspiration of another new FS Fan. She liked all my other whinges or whines re lack of rewards for reviewing or lack of...whatever then I wrote the I'm Free of free when another fan told me if they ain't offering a decent reward he skips reading also about too little reward on a large tome. probably finished ranting now hehe we are again as with a lot of others on the same page. I nearly missed the movement in the Image from Fan Art that was why I chose it. Cheers and nice to meet you.

And yes I do do it on the Mobile (Cell) if we are out and about some times Grrrr.

I often do reviews on my iPhone - which is stupid - but only 'cause it makes me look stupid.
I know this, but only because I've gone back and seen a handful of my reviews after the fact (when someone has replied to it), and what I read at that point - was partially not what I had intended to type!! I'm like "Well, hope they made sense out of that!" Stupid auto-correct!!! ;)

Well Barbara they are the ones that are missing out from the wonderful tooing and froing with you I have enjoyed. I fond your writing very enjoyable and a lot of times very educational as to culture and history. Thanks for coming by.

Hi friend well glad you finally came over for a look after all it was you whom inspired me to write this if you haven't figured that out yet. Planning an addition to my Chapter in my book on Friends soon. Appreciate you coming by. Yeah that picture really grabbed me I only just caught the 'motion' in it just before I was moving on to look at something else so I knew that had to be the one. I am planning on moving some of the poems from the Book of Poultry to Geoff's Musings the other book of poems and Essays and Stories. And vice versa.Thanks again.

Hi Sankey, I totally agree with your wonderful words my friend, I do lots of reviews but certainly don't get lots of responses, it also annoys me when people copy and paste part of your poem and just put 'great', there are a few of those on here! Then there's the one who always replys in capitals, then there's---- OMG this is turning into a rant, it's your fault you started it!

I think I know where you are coming from with this. Dialogue is so much more useful than monologue. It's nice to get a reply of some sort after having read and responded to a piece of writing. Having said that, I only very rarely come across writers who do not acknowledge a review. Sometimes the response is delayed because of life pressures or in some cases by the sheer volume of responses needed. But that's all right.

Hi new friend. I too, understand about time and pressures even as retired as me and the Missuss are. Some folks even think us retired folks have a lot of time on our hands! NOT! Much appreciate your coming by can't remember if I had read any of your stuff. Will try and get around to all you new friends I keep making from these fantastic reviews.

If writers have joined the site for feedback and camaraderie. . .how long can they expect to get those benefits if they never acknowledge the efforts made?

Hi new friend. Thanks for a spot on review. Much appreciated. I write this poem as a result of a suggestion from another new FS friend who read my other poems regarding lack of rewards for reviews or the other one I wrote was about skipping a read of works that do not reward. Except where the story grabs me anyway or the writer is a regular Fan or supporter of my own stuff. Thanks good review.

Hi Dorothy. Good of you to come by. You and I are on the same page. I know I have had some pretty hard reviews of my stuff and initially I may have been hurt by them. However, on reflection looking back at the areas commented on for improvement I agreed with their suggestions sometimes completely or even a portion of same all to my betterment of course. Thanks again good friend.
