Hi, Barb,
So, the mystery around good ole boy Jim mounts up.
Something tells me sparks will fly between him and Soni, but hot under the collar sparks first.
Good chapter.
Cheers & Blessings

Oh Barbara, does it tell you how much I enjoyed this chapter when I tell you that I'm infuriated? That Hughes is an ass! (Great character-build. I love the others, too, especially Granddad...*smile*). Very entertaining, and you've left off with a good lead into the next bit. :)

Hi Barbara,
I'm way, way behind on this story, but I think your 'Homeland Security Agent' needs to meet a .45 between the eyes. Meet a wolf? A grizzly with a headache might be a better solution. Hughes sounds like a man with an axe to grind - a dangerous man to have investigating anything, because they're blinkered by 'expectation bias' and will only see what they want to see.

Thank you for dropping by and leaving this kind review. If it helps, Hughes does meet with a not so great end.

Things certainly aren't right on the ranch. Good news that Diego's going to pull through. Liked Kuruk's comment about Ol' Thunder taking his time getting anywhere. Hughes certainly has an agenda and will surely be found out as a bad apple. He is determined Soni will be found guilty of using peyote, regardless of her denial that it was used at their celebration and the fact that urine, blood, and saliva samples came back negative, he's not willing to clear her of suspicion. Has to wait for the hair follicles. The man's definitely a creep, out of get Soni. Jim lies low, even though he's in a situation to be of more help to Soni. Sounds like he's biding his time, collecting evidence of wrong-doing. Saw the post and couldn't wait to read it. Excellent, and definitely six stars. judi

Another good suspenseful episode. I never found anything wrong, but do hope the dog makes it. Yep, Apache strung out across New Mexico all the way into Globe AZ. Best to you.

I am really enjoying this story. The good guys and the bad. Hughes has a lot to answer for. There is so much more to this and he really needs to get his facts straight or stop harassing Soni. Hope the dog pulls through and still waiting for news of her stallion. Another great chapter. Genya

well known for it's use - drop the apostrophe
great dialogue to demonstrate just how prejudice Hughes is and how determined he is to prove he's right about his suspicions no matter how much the evidence contradicts him - that stuff about the tests is ludicrous as he waits for the hair follicle test when all the others contradict him

Hughes needs to meet up with some smugglers and get the straight scoop. This is very well written and holds tightly to the story line.
