Ok. This is different.

Though well written, I could not help but wonder what's it's purpose. Is it a prelude to a new story?

Perhaps I need a cup of coffee in order to see it clearer. :-)

Thanks for sharing this. JW

Ahh, just a different way of pleading for a peaceful resolution to the conflicts in the world. Take care my friend. Hope you at least holding your own in the war against fleas~Debbie

    Thanks for your concern.

I do have good news. The flea problem is at least 95% gone. Ironically though, because it last for so long - the situation left an unexpected psychological effect that I am having to work on.

I'll PM you a little later about that. :-)

I hope you're having a great day - and smile, even if inside you don't feel like it.

    It helps.

Hi Debbie,
a wonderful message all wrapped up in a fun way to teach the young and possibly some with their heads stuck in the sand about gun control, the miss-use and the ramification of bad choices where using anything that may harm another human being... fun characters with good messages and very nicely constructed into a learning poem... thank you for sharing this one friend.

With our thoughts we create,
common sense,
James xx

Dear James just a different way of pleading for a peaceful resolution to the conflicts in the world. Having been involved in a violent crime, I am struggling to realize such crime is real. Take care my friend. Love you, dear friend~Debbie xx

Debbie, this is such a fun a a b b rhymed write. It has the western ambiance needed for the continuity. It relays an important message inside a simple package. Well done. :0 GracieAnn

Yes, about time we started telling school age children of the dangers of guns. Cute rhyme which is an effective way to get through to kids and get them the message. Good use of rhyming and cute picture. Enjoyable read, Faye

Very neat and powerful statement about gun control. Though I tend to lean toward the conservative side, I DO believe that guns need to be tightly controlled. Obv. they're quite dangerous and I don't like the idea of a scene where someone gets drunk, screws around with a gun...shoots and kills someone!

This is really cute. I was teaching a lesson to my first graders about respect and being a good citizen. I mentioned being at a stop light and hearing somebody's music. I asked if that was being respectful of others? They agreed it was not, but one of my little girls said, "But I don't like country music." I wondered about that statement. LOL
You did a great job with your poem.

Guns would frighten the life out of me. They are illegal in the UK, you won't find gun shops any where here. I think farmers can have them for pest control, but they need a licence and even then the laws make having pretty hard to get. We have gun clubs, but again, I think the guns are kept at the club. Your poem is brilliant to give children the idea it is not clever or big to own a gun. Well done, Debbie. xsx Sandra

Debbie;
I truly love you are children's poem is so diverse and well written for a child. It preaches nonviolence and shows the difference between people who do not like guns.
It's rhyming is neither forced nor labored and the words used are very effective in the rhyming. Even the rhyming helps with the rhythmic flow which seems to flow smoothly throughout the writing. The imagery is quite clear and distinct and very expressive and descriptive throughout. Thank you so much for sharing thank you so much for sharing and posting and may the good Lord be with you always Debbie.

Thank you. Given recent events, I am much more harsh on my thinking about guns. And adults are hard to change--children much easier. Have a blessed day~Debbie

Debbie, yes, children are more influential when it comes to guns and it starts from an early age to change their thinking about them. And you are so sincerely welcome.
