So true! Conversations have been replaced with texts or emails, even with your family. Soon, there will be few who remember how it used to be, when the joy of conversation was the norm - good or bad! Your excellent poem reminds us all. Alexis x

Dear Vance - some excellent points in this poem. Some I totally agree with and there is nothing better than human contact whether that within our family or humanity itself. This is well penned - a skilled and thoughtful write my friend.
Thanks for sharing, I would have sixed this for it's powerful message but I'm out :(

In a way the high tech stuff can bad and good. Bad in as much as for the live along widow or widower may find their children see mom or dad have written something on the internet like on face book and know the parents are still alive. then the children say to themselves mom or day is okay after all I saw the wrote something so they don't nrreed to call and talk to them personally even if only for a couple of moinutes.
It is good in as much as we have wonderful sites like F/S where we can share our thought and kno there are people who care.

Wonderful questions asked here, and of course everyone will have different answers. I don't see today's youth surviving without the computers, cell-phones...I don't see us ever adjusting to everything we've lost, because of them. Personally....I'd like to find a Mayberry RFD to live in. I'd be Aunt Bee, ha ha.

This poem is suburb in rhyme and meter and is current with what many feel these days. It's true, Tech has changed the world. In my situation, where my eight children live great distances, text, email, face book keeps us in constant contact and internet has opened up great opportunities for me as a writer. I can understand how some might feel lonely and shut out over the new circle.

A very accurate and plaintiff electronic cry I hear from your laptop/iPad, Vance. Unfortunate for the person abroad, which I think you are, that is the only communication, which is better than the occasional letter I suppose! Beautifully and emotively written, the poem's design is great, the poem articulate in simple but in an eloquent easily and poignantly written. Well done, Vance, I haven't a single six left, my friend, I'm sorry, blessings of the season, Roy.

Hi Roy: It is ALWAYS a great delight to hear from you and although I'm regretful of the loss of "HIGH TOUCH" I must admit that ELECTRONIC touch is certainly better than NO TOUCH. Kinda like this wonderful FANSTORY "connector" Blessings dear friend and sincere thanks for your thoughts and virtual six !! Vance

There can really be more than one prospective to this computer age. I think for the young, it is wildly conflicted.
For us older people, for me at least, it has enabled me to keep in contact with far off friends and family. So it has good and bad sides. Like most thing. Liked the way your presented this.

This work has reached the exceptional level

This is so right on. High tech has somehow distanced us from the world of touching, feeling, and actually being in the same room with that person. Love how you end this with "Ones and zeros replaces" Don't know if there's a way out of this. I wonder what his expression would be if he'd read this? Very real. Well crafted. Les
