Ah indeed dear Vance,,
I too share your dismay and distance between human beings the tech
age has made, for the sake of convenience, fad, and anonymity, Cyber
chip robots many have become. Alien looking creatures with ear buds,
cell phones as appendages to their ears and hands. Keystrokes replacing
pens and loving strokes on a sentimental greeting card. Texts replacing
even the instant chat, as absurd and insane as can be! Why the compulsion
to text messages on smaller keys and spaces in place of phone chat?
People don't talk even in public places, one on one, or in a group
like they used to. Instead, everywhere, cell phone is instantly pulled out
and it is possible to see a couple at dinner, without exchanging a single
live word between them, yet glued to their cell phones, reading, texting
or playing a game app. Malls are full of cell robots, drivers driving talk
on their cell's, everywhere there is cell robotics going full throttle.
Kids don't connect with their parents, physically, emotionally or
lovingly, they deem it more 'cool' to outsource their thoughts or
greetings via micro chip butler's. People don't hug or chat when
chancing to run into each other like they used to. Lucky to get a
wave or an avoided eye to eye contact. Everybody is busy at being so busy
and techy, we are not only loosing our identity to the computer and tech
gadgets, but our very essence, dignity, and basic humanity!
Progress can either advance or regress. The tech age I believe has
regressed us to lesser beings and duller senses, and obliterated countless
imaginations, dreamers, making mortal morphs far from the Creator's
original intent and design.
Thanks for sharing...as one very uneasy and wary too of the tech age.
Love and blessings, Ronni

Hi Ronni: Thanks so much for reviewing this work and adding to the scope of thought and consideration, so many brilliant observations from your own personal perspective. So great to hear from you. A true joy! Many thanks and Hugs! Vance

Well, if you recall dear Vance, you asked
me to take a peek in your port, and
I did. Once I got there, wow...
I hope I did not overdo it, and too
taxing or taking up too much of
your time. I am sure you have quite
many things going on or are into.
Blessings, Ronni

Yes, things have definitely changed since computers came into our lives. It's nice in some ways, like being able to keep in touch with people who have moved away, but things do seem less personal.

Thanks Cindy and it's been awhile since I wrote this and realize that "truly connecting" is truly sharing our love and emotions for each one we meet whether it is on the internet or in the flesh. I'm glad to know you and hope that my energies of love will reach you and help you in any way your life can use them. Blessings and Love! Vance

Love the soothing artwork you have chosen to accompany this well crafted piece with that you have delivered us. Your creativity flows nicely throughout this piece, if I must critique at all it would have to be towards the end. "And "it" all up to you." I think you may have meant it's.
God bless and thank you for sharing.

Thank you Neoneman: I appreciate your feedback and it has been so long that I have been away that I've not actually reviewed this piece myself for awhile. I will have a look but meanwhile...thank you so much for taking time to give your thoughts. I treasure them! Vance

Hi His Grayness. What you ask is whether we are becoming an insulated world, and I think we are. Writing such as your poem make this more clear every day. enjoyed the read, alf

Well written and so true. It should inspire people to get back in touch - for real! Good flow on the rhyming. Good expression of emotion.

Hi, Vance,
I'd say we're losing big time.
I like your poem a lot. It tells it exactly the way it is these days with the human element taken out of what we do.
Too easy to hide behind the keyboard.
Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax (*:*)

My Identity, indeed we live in a electronic world, letter writing seems almost the way of the past, that's a very heartfelt expressed poem. Nice rhyming, I enjoyed reading it, God bless you. Lakeport.

Comment from Samuel Dickens
This is something I think of all the time. Obviously, I'm on a computer, but that's as far as it goes with me. If the electricity goes off, I'll get by, just as I did when I was young--back there in the dark ages. With great words and rhymes, you make your point exceedingly well.

Wow: Samuel, thank you so much and I'm truly honored to receive your kind review! You have a big challenge to hold the honor of that Dickens name and I'll bet you are doing it well. I shall come around to read your work as well. Many thanks! Vance

Hi. I had to come looking for this. They kick these notices out after three days and I'm buried. But, I remember seeing your name. Ha! Glad I came snooping. This is so true. I have quite a few relationships that have become strictly "online" situations. I think if it were the old days I'd be in my car driving over there to some of them. But, it is easy to click a happy face and have an LOL once in a while. Then I have those people I wouldn't know at all if it weren't for the computer. That's kind of strange too. Good piece. Thought provoking. mikey

very off the cuff, but don't let the relaxed casual discourse fool ya. this has earned a recognized status, folks. Even in "everyday" language, the Master teaches....and his authoritive language/tone STILL impresses everyone

Hi Val: great to hear from you and I hope life is treating you well. I hope also we might get together somewhere, somehow soon and shake hands and minds! Be well dear friend! Vance

hi...a coworker wants me to be the vocalist in his band (he wants me to supply the songlist which will be all 50's and 60's)He says he also has a "connection" in country music.....we'll see) I've now accumulated approx. 45 country songs I wrote during the year which I have TOTAL FAITH in their sellability. They're cute and clever and I DARE to say are on par with HIS GREYNESS....as far as meeting- it's some kind of a world we got here-dangerous sometimes....OR it could be serendipity and mutually benefitting. Please don't take offence-please. Perhaps we ARE destined to meet. The Lord will provide on this
-
Hi Val and congratulations on the new opportunity. This must be serendipity as recently I got a call from the wife of an old songwriting partner in Nashville telling me he is very ill and probably wont live long. Years ago we had created a new concept called "songwriters in the round" which caught on at BLUEBIRD CAFE in Nashville. We moved it up to a TV show concept called LEDGENDS IN LYRICS and it became a winner. I had to go to Australia so I signed out of the project but my partner Will Mitchell kept me informed. Today it is licensed to PBS and BBC worldwide and many shows have been recorded and in the can. Will's wife asked me to take over the company and roll out the remaining shows to BBC and PBS. Major stars participated in these shows as performers and commentators on the new writers who presented their songs in the round. If you send your mailing address, I will send you a CD of an early show. I'm raising money right now to get this all back up and running and maybe you want to do a show with your partners?? Let me know Vance

who ARE you? you say you were able to get a song to Elvis.....you have a tv show you were/ are currently involved(are there other tv shows?) You were(hopefully still are running at least one) the owner of technology businesses......You've GOT to be somebody famous-Hell,Yeah,I wanna be on the songwriter show-but just me without the other guy (my songs are cute, shmaltz, and "classic"-his are easylistening Eaglesesque pap) I gotta copyright them on the government form on the internet (only around $35 foro
