Suggestion: drop 'so' peace would always come. This is a lovely contest entry for Faith. Your mum sounds as if she was full of love and faith that she always passed to you. Well done my friend. Blessings, K. Congratulations on winning second place with this lovely poem. Kay XX

Thank you, my dear friend, I have changed that now, take a look and see what you think. My mum was my very best friend, she was always there for me. Thank you for the lovely 6 stars, Kay, you are a star yourself. :) Sandra xsx

Hi Sandra,

This is a fine poem about faith, Sandra. Your mother sounds like she was a special person, full of wisdom.

Your rhyming and meter are perfect, and you've made good use of alliteration to increase the flow of your thoughtfully-chosen words.

Thank you for sharing! Alana

This is so beautiful, and such a lovely tribute to your mother. I can't think of anything I would suggest you change in this little gem of an inspirational poem. For me, the rhyme flowed smoothly throughout and contributed to the overall message.

Beautiful sentiments - I always find myself just a bit jealous when reading poems like this about things I personally never experienced, but realize they must have been wonderful. Great choice in artwork - very calming and expressive photo. AT=/

Oh, I am so sorry, you missed out so badly. I think every child should have a loving bond with their mum, if not their mother, then someone. Thank you so much for your lovely review, AT=/ I am pleased you like it. xsx sandra

You are so right, Sandra. When we pray with complete confidence that we are not alone and that we're on the right path, serenity follows. What a wonderful mother you had... Hugs, Lou

Oh! This is so very lovely, and evokes so much sentiment - it resonates strongly with me, and I'm sure it will with most who read it, if not all, Sandra. Rhyme and meter are right on, as usual. I have just one tiny suggestion (and I honestly don't know if it's any good), but I would switch the word "so" before "peace" to "such"...yes?

I loved it, my friend, though I'm a bit sad now...(so you have my company in that 'alone' feeling...which means, I guess, we're not, hmm? XXOO) *SILLY GRIN* - love, Dawn

Oh, Dawn, am I allowed to ask why? PM, me, I hate to think of you sad and, no, you are not alone, I always feel sad at this time of year, December is looming and I lost my husband, then 2 really good friend, and then my dad, all in December, and my mum, bless her, made sure she didn't pass in that month, she waited until January this year. It didn't make any difference to how I feel, I would have felt the same if she had died any month. But I do have a lot of her in me, and that is a comfort.
Thank you again, my dear friend. xsx Sandra Big Hugs.

Hi Sandra - I'm running out of 6's but I had to give you one for this. First - I just love the sentiment and found it very moving. Your iambic pentameter is spot and your abab rhyme form is perfect. Stanzas 1 and 2 develop beautifully and a wonderful turn in stanza 3. Very lovely couplet. A perfect English sonnet. Warm regards Dorothy xx

Oh, Dorothy, thank you so very much, my friend! What a lovely review, and a huge thank you for the 6 stars. This is the first Christmas I'll have without my parents, my mum died this year and my father 3 years ago. She just could not live without him. I was very lucky that I had such a lovely mum. Thank you again, Dorothy. xsx Sandra

Sandra, a beautifully expressed poem! My mom passed away eleven years ago, but the ten years prior to that, because of my bull-headed ness, I lost contact. I saw her very, very briefly before she died. And I regret it all, oh so much. I think about her a lot.

Thank you for writing this poem. John

She knows it, John, and one day you will see her again. I am sure of it. My sister was the same with our dad, but just before he died, she was there for him. But he knew she loved him as he loved her. She was bull-headed too, but learnt a valuable lesson and was there for mum which was wonderful. Thank you so much, John, for this lovely review. Take care, my friend. xsx Sandra

Hi, Sandra,

What a lovely story of faith. Mum's are always right.

I like the the praying hands and your formatting as well. Sometime simplicity is the key. Nicely done.

Good luck in the contest.

Cheers & Blessings
