Hi Loanna

This is a most unusual story, really unique, yet it tells the story of the baby Jesus, the king in the manger. The Camel and the dove is very creative. I believe this
story could be an animated film that would be lovely at Christmas time.

Well done
Good luck in the contest.
Mary

Thanks for sharing "The Camel and the Dove". This is a very touching poem that marries the timeless historical event of the Birth of Christ with the whimsical concept of mutual benefit for bearing one another's burdens.
May God Bless you, have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Wow, Lois! what a wonderfully written poem for the Christmas season. A story poem about a weary camel and an injured dove, who want nothing more than to see the King of Kings in his manager at Bethlehem. They do so, but it nearly costs the camel his life having ridden the wounded dove all the way so that she could heal, and perhaps save her strength.

The dove sees as Christ performs His first miracle on her near-dead, unselfish friend, and the camel comes strolling into town later to see the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in the manger.

Wonderfully rhymed, impeccably metered, this tells a story as old as time, but spins a very unique perspective on it.

Well done, and good luck in the contest! ~Dean

I enjoyed this beautiful narrative in a poem. It's believable conversations you've created and the characters are appropriately selected. A refreshing theme for this Christmas season. Good message too -- well illustrated character traits between friends. I enjoyed the read. Thanks for sharing.} Lin

You have told a tender story in lovely poetic form. I never would have paired a camel and dove, but you have done it cleverly and poignantly. I hear what you are saying! I am always drawn to the "bird" entries as I raised exotic finches for many years, and love them dearly. Birds are such magical creatures. (I know next to nothing about camels!) You have fine structure, and a good tempo which makes for a very smooth read. I did not read the prompt, but you seem to have met the criteria, and so I wish you well in the contest. Thank you for sharing; it made me smile.

You really had to use your imagination to pair a camel and a dove - but it worked - and what a lovely "story" you tell in your well-written poem. Thank you. Good job.

Birds are so lovely, my daughter nurtured an injured white pigeon, like a dove, for years and it was a show of mutual love. I love all animals, so this struck a note with me, especially with the Christmas story accompanying it. Well written story within a poem, with good dialogue, descriptions and rhyming. Most enjoyable, good luck in the contest. Faye
